Yes, invoking Hitler is corny. Also reprehensible. Comparing, well, pretty much anything short of war/genocide to Hitler's actions/character dismisses and devalues everything Hitler did.
It's okay, people who have not lived very long are quite often self-absorbed and ignorant of the importance of history. Can't really help it. One day they will have some kind of tragedy in their lives and will understand that everything isn't a joke.

going back to page 1 and 2 on this thread, you know, with all the duck jokes...just last week in my city, someone hit a duck on the high-way...got out of her car to help the duck then she herself got run over by another vehicle. People witnessed the female flying about 30 feet in the air.
terrible. Her kids were in the vehicle and saw the whole thing. She did die.
