A philosophy thread.
There is no I. It's an illusion. Everything is nature. That's all there is. All there ever has been and there ever will be.
Natural forces and natural materials. Causality at work.
Nature created the universe and life and is controlling everything that happens. Nature isn't a being though. Everything just happens. Not for a reason but because of a cause.
Things like beauty and righteousness don't truly exist. All that's true is patterns. But that we love creates the illusion.
Think of a sunset. Beautiful no? Actually only a set of vibrations.
As for love just an evolutionary happening. Something that happens within nature.
Meaning of life. Meaningful to whom? There is no I.
Life neither is meaningful nor meaningless. It just is.
There is no death. Not really. Nature always has and always will exist.
'Philosophy' musing, with a 'geo-political' twist. {linked}.
Actor, "Matt Damon".. would appear to have a point! - Short of 'moi' Not considering, his solution, personally viable. ..lol

Listen.
Oh by the way Carolina I hope you stay. But I think love is there for you offline. It's not about online.
I'm not about to begin a deep analysis of it. What I will do is briefly sum it up then state its implications.
We human beings naturally associate life with matter. But energy isn't only about matter. Natural forces exists independent of matter. An example of this is gravity.
So to start with all there was was natural forces. Guys it's helpful to remember at this time we are talking about a quantum world.
If you look into science a bit you'll find Newtonian physics don't hold true at the quantum level. The rules are different.
What happened though was that through causality these natural forces created matter.
Hawking speculates Gravity was the culprit.
With me still.
Hawking speculates that there are many universes without any life at all. There are highly unusual measurements here in our universe, he says if the forces that exists were just a little different life would not be possible.
But we live in a universe with those conditions hence we exist! The strong anthropic principle.
With me so far.
All our thoughts feelings and behaviours are a result of causality. Einstein talked about internal and external needs.
A human being superimposes a view of a being they call I upon what's really there which is just nature at work. Evolution.
The part of this whole idea I struggled with the most was that the love I felt rather than being 'me' was actually nature.
I learned though about prairie voles and found those with the natural capacity to love did love and those without didn't.
I finally understood there is no I. Even that we love we have no choice about. It's natural!
With me so far.
In this philosophy thread everyone here is welcome to talk about how they see life and existence.
I'll let it run till 1000 posts. Please write in your own words and post links if you would like to refer to someone else's words.
