Au Contraire! .. No reason, to 'get annoyed'.. If, you want an answer, via, 'look elsewhere'..{with 'google' instructions}.

I wasn't intending that condescendingly! .. But, rather recognizing, that, I don't qualify, as a qualified proponent, in this case ..{or circa 98% of All topics!}.

'Kill'..{or blame}, the 'messenger' doesn't apply here - As it seldom does! o:

My view of evolution is that it's implications are more profound than people accept.

Evolution is about natural materials evolving through causality.

People assume that human beings are somehow apart from this but of course we aren't.

I see evolution as being about the strongest survive.

It's not about wanting to survive really more being adaptable.

That said I imagine that life forms without a survival instinct wouldn't last long.

Sure I believe in evolution. That's the point S23.

There is no self. Only evolutionary advancement. All the things you associate as being you are really just a part of nature. All and everything.

I recall a fella saying we can do random things. That disputes free will. For example I can urinate in my office bin.

All our behaviours have a cause though. Even if that cause is only the desire to refute freewill. Causality can't be escaped!

Only the fittest survive ...that is those life forms who can best adjust to the new things around them

Americans are the only people who have trouble with evolution...very strange phenomenon...it happened 3.8 billion years ago...etc etc

There are four basic views on the nature of the universe:

1.) The universe was created

2.) The universe came about by chance

3.) The universe has always been

4.) The universe is an illusion

How do we choose our worldview?  Why does it matter, or does it even matter?  We are reasoning beings and it seems we can't help but be.  Is reason something that should be used to choose a worldview?  Is there a worldview that is more reasonable than another?

IMO 2 is the best option...the universe came about by chance

Other possibilities ...There are more universes than one ...string theory

cheers

Does this worldview allow you to make sense of personality or consciousness?

It only makes sense after a few glasses of red wine

a dream inside a dream.........like when you go sleeping..........all what happens during the dream is make by your only mind..........even if you see lot of persons in the dream.........you preject them all while you re sleeping..........the only problem of that is.....................no free will if that is true.........because is the mind what determins what  will  you do or not or what will hapen in your story .............

Avatar of carolina0509L

yes so...............behind our all activities exist a great mind projecting us all the time............we are just its effects............

How do you know that?

S23. @ 91.

How about this as a reason to believe you have no choice.

Think of the planets. Those gigantic things. How their orbits are inevitable. Beyond their control.

Now think of those extremely simple life forms such as simple worms composed of a few cells. Do you think they have control? As hawking said they have a preference for certain foods.

Finally us. We human beings. What's more likely? That causality applies to us too and we hold an illusion that we are in control through consciousness existing, or that we really can control destiny, like some superhuman being that's apart from nature.

Before you answer consider man once believed he was at the centre of the universe and that everything revolved around him.

Man has always been massively egocentric. That's the nature of experience. We feel like it's all about us.

It's an illusion.

Like we seem to be still but the earth is spinning the universe expanding the Galaxies moving.

Nice post ed. Perhaps your point is that happiness is a state of mind.

I've never thought though it was a pleasant idea you should be happier because your neighbour is suffering!
Avatar of carolina0509L

no i dont know it.............is just one alternative if it supposed whe are inside the dream of this gratest mind

Avatar of carolina0509L

there is something i think that is true..............that our eyes dont even percive all what really exist......

all what we can see is in a little range of all the spectrum of the electromagnetic band

Avatar of carolina0509L

so think wich is the difference between our dreams when we go sleeping and the state when we are awake..................we see lot of changing events...............in the daily life also...........we see persons with us..........in the daily life also..................we have feelings..........in the daily life also..........we talk and all what you can imagine..............the only difference in the dream we can fly and make crazy things.................but when we are awake we are inside some phisic rules we cant break............just that...........but it is just a supposition not more............i dont make the afirmation i am sure about it or what i say is true at all........
