Asteroid 2021 GW4 missed the Earth by about 26,000 kilometers yesterday, passing 14 times closer than the Moon. It was moving at about 30,000 kilometers per hour as it zipped past.
Due to its small size, it had only been spotted four days earlier. Had it hit us, it would probably have disintegrated while passing through the atmosphere, causing an airburst explosion comparable to a nuclear bomb.
