Bought by the same people who used to order those x-ray vision glasses from the backs of comic books hoping they could see through people's clothes. Right Al? Al?

AlCzervik

well, i know the golf ball ones are fake.

but, 30 years ago, anything purported to allow me to, um, see ladies had me reaching for my wallet.

AlCzervik

i've played with golf balls that, when hit, a light inside would flicker for 5 minutes. they were great. you could finish any round in the dark.

but if you were to hit it into a lake, it was as if the ball was giving you the finger every time it flickered, reminding you of the penalty and the cash you just dumped.

There shouldn't be anything measurable, but it's snowing right now.

AlCzervik

from another cc'er. http://www.oregonlive.com/weather/index.ssf/2017/04/hey_portland_quit_complaining.html

i remember visiting seattle, and it rained for two weeks straight. not sure how i would handle almost 6 months of rain.

Cystem_Phailure

No snow recored yesterday, but on Thursday the Soo recorded 0.1 inches, which was the first measurable snow since April 11 (0.5 inches). The season total is 137.5 inches (so far!).

Cystem_Phailure

April is obviously never a very snowy month for the Soo, but this year was ridiculous. The total measured snowfall during April was 0.6 inches. Here are April snowfall values for the past few years:

2013 -- 14.7"
2014 -- 11.4"
2015 --  2.6"
2016 -- 17.6"
2017 --  0.6"

Still, the average snowfall value for a full winter (120 inches) was surpassed way back on February 25th this year, and on May 01 the seasonal total stands at 136.8 inches, so there was no shortage this winter.

Time to hang up your "going-to-the-mailbox" shoes, pull off the outside faucet covers and wash the car if that was neglected all winter.  Oh, and see if the mower starts.   Smile

Wow a beautiful day here with a temp of 16.2C (1:50 pm) in the Manawatu-Wanganui region of the North Island NZ

kco

This Temp is taken from the airport 10 mins from the city (is a town really Wink ) http://www.metservice.com/towns-cities/palmerston-north
This is a better website, right in the city. Note the nickname for Palmerston North is known as Palmy.

Yep. Gotta copy and paste myself now. Cool But I guess this ultimately makes it more unique.

BTW, I almost posted this last week when it happened-- the surface temperature of Lake Superior is up to 40°F now [4.4°C]. Made it by the middle of July!

OK, OK, it's not really the surface temperature. The reading is taken 1 meter below the water line of the weather buoy.
