They found another of the Lewis Chessmen last month! Now only four missing.
It's an 800-year-old set from the viking days, found in a burial barrow over 100 years ago, but with several pieces missing.

In December of 1026, King Cnut (known in English legend as King Canute) was playing chess with his brother-in-law, the Jarl Ulf, at a banquet in Roskilde. They started arguing over the chess-board, and the following day one of Cnut's retainers assassinated Ulf (apparently with Cnut's approval).
