i have heard great things about cuteFTP. personally i use the FTP in dreamweaver (not free).

It's not only freeware, it's opensource... So you can peruse the sourcecode to ensure that there are no Shenanigans afoot.

I've downloaded the Core FTP already and am going through the help menu to familiarise myself with the basics of the program before actually using it, and it seems very good so far; and since reading the last post I've also downloaded Filezilla and that seems good as well. Everyone's been a great help...
