Academic Orientation

Hi...

I know this has nothing to do with chess (and at least I put it in the off topic section), but I'll probably be going to college next year and I'm wondering if the "Academic Orientation" class is a one-time thing given BEFORE my regular classes will start or AFTER? Google just couldn't give me a straight answer. And, will I be in a big room with like 100 other freshmen or what?

I think that will completely depend on the school you are going to. When I had mine, it was a half semester course (had a different name though) and the school I went to changed it up and it is now a full semester one.

The description of the class in the course catalog should clarify it. If it doesn't, try and find the most recent listing for class schedules and see how they have it listed there. It should say how long it is, how often they meet, etc.

It varies depending on the school. My orientation was a one day event before classes started. We got a campus tour, received info on campus services, and signed up for classes. I still don't know how I ended up in two classes my first semester. Anyway we had probably 60 people in our orientation group.
