Carbs are okay as long as you exercise and burn them. Sitting on your butt will just turn the calories into fat.

I am motivated to do exercise right now.
but I must admit the hardest part is that I am addicted to buying and eating candy.
I think I spent 70$ on sweets each month
furthermore I am tempted with cake and coffee at the job all day long.
I am really trying to cut down since I think I will play better chess if I manage to reduce the amount of sweets.
any advice other than don't eat it?
