Simple: I play as the aliens attacking Earth while everyone else tries to work together for the defence of Earth.

These aliens are known as Kischun [Singular & plural], and their leadership is an authoritarian, strictly matriarchal monarchy. These aliens' male rights have flip-flopped from scarce to flat-out non-existent at times.

Earth has never been a unified planet. What do these Kischun want here? If it’s anything other than the total annihilation of humanity, you are now likely to find many nations surrendering. Being reviled as “alien collaborators” and “betrayers of Earth” is a tolerable alternative after this terrible display of shock-and-awe. Humanity turns against their own kind: Occupied Earth and its Puppet Governments vs. The Resistance.

(Switzerland nukes itself as the Kischun descend and obliterate all of Earth's army. 1 billion humans died in the first nuclear exchange.)

(The Kischun forcibly deport the survivors to either Europe [except Iceland], Asia [Except for most islands] and any parts of Africa North of the 22°N line.)
