An invention that could make the world a better place?

We have dog food pellets to feed dogs. It's time for humans to live on food pellets.

A genetically engineered tree able to grow faster and reproduce at a higher rate to repopulate the areas destroyed by fires and human activities while fighting the global warming.

Why would you want to fight global warming? Plants grow a lot better in hot weather than they do in cold weather.

Stargazer1633

But global warming is making the world too hot, plants can't grow very well in deserts. Also, is raining less and less and storms are more destructive.

But plants DO grow very well in deserts. Look at Arizona. The valley, where it routinely is above 100 degrees all summer long plants do very well. Not just citrus but also all kinds of fruits and vegetables including tomatoes, alfalfa, hay for cattle, etc. You know where plants do NOT grow very well? Icebergs, ice caps and snow. Plants like heat a lot more than they like cold.

Stargazer1633

I was thinking in places like Sahara or Gobi, a bit more extreme than Arizona. Places like the Amazon is what support life on Earth, renewing the oxygen, and we, as species, are destroying that. We need more plants.

Even in the sahara desert plants can do well. All they need is water. Being too hot is not the problem. Plants like heat, they just also like water. Plants dont like cold though. They dont grow well, or at all, when frozen.

And how does the Amazon support life on earth? It doesn't renew any more oxygen than it consumes. I dont see how we as a species, or anything or anyone else is destroying oxygen production. Isn't the amount of oxygen we have right now the same as it's been for thousands of years?

Maybe global warming isn't a problem, maybe it's a solution.

Either you are trolling or are the secret account of some orange leader. Global warming is making our planet worse in any account.

bong711

Admit it or not, Global warming have both good and bad effects. Russia, Canada and other with long winters would enjoy longer planting season. It would affect the Polar Bears badly but it would benefit some animals too.

Stargazer1633

Is unnatural. In my country is already killing people and making the storms stronger.

Denying or welcoming global warming is no different than joining a death cult.

bong711

Nature can't please everybody. Farmers pray for rain while Fishermen pray the opposite, Pollution and Garbage are the real problems created by Modernization.

Stargazer1633

Agree. Pollution is acelerating global warming, that's why more trees will lessen the effects.

How?  Like bong said, you may not like it but there ARE benefits. Going forward humans have to think about food production, and plants DO like hot weather more than cold weather. Google farming or agriculture in the Sahara desert. Now google farming or agriculture in Antarctica. Food production in hot areas is very robust, food production in the polar regions is basically non existent.

By the way, you didn't explain how the Amazon supports life on earth or how we are "destroying" oxygen production. Aren't oxygen levels the same now as they have been for thousands of years?

I realize the benefits of global warming, and I'm willing to listen to the drawbacks. But you havent explained it very well. Do you at least agree that the Amazon uses up as much oxygen as  it produces?

We agreed happy.png If the world reduce Pollution, Global Warming would be reduced too. Time to stop buying expensive Wooden Furniture. To save the Century old trees, the source of hardwood materials for wooden furniture. Chopsticks, matches and toothpicks don't destroy forest.

Stargazer1633

No, you guys are right. If we destroy our atmosphere, Earth will be a better place.

No it wont

it surprises me how few people mention that 10 humans on average need twice as much food, cars, buildings...than a group of 5 humans.

if we allow ourselves to keep growing then we will need more sources, there will be less space for trees and of course rules will be more strict. I personally don't want to live in a world like that :)
