The idea is that you donate money to help pay for their basic needs (school supplies, clothes, etc.). People do it all the time -- nothing illegal about it.
I've been thinking about sponsoring a child (through World Vision or another organization like that). I want to teach my kids about helping people in need. Does anyone do this with their family? Have you found it to be a valuable experience?
