It's hardly dying, but it's future is definitely under threat. Mismanagement, increasing toxicity and a growing intolerance of newer, weaker players, are all causing this place to stagnate and become an echo chamber for the elites and for trolls. Make no mistake, steps have to be taken now to safeguard its future.
Online chess is not a good option for making money there are several ways to make money efficiently,people come here just to play and have fun

There is no free lunch: somebody has to pay something for the service.
Chess.com lives from paid memberships and adds.
Other platforms live from voluntary donations.
No service can go on for nothing.

Pretty sure chess.com grew in amount of both free and paid users since before 2020 so what is this all about? Maybe we'll see a small dip from the top of the post-netflix-during-lockdown peak but that's it.

Chess.com is not dying. Don't start writing a eulogy any time soon. I've played in USTCL matches here against people with Chesskids mentioned in their profiles. I don't know much about it, but it seems like it's working from what I can tell.

You're making a real stretch there to say they offer the "same services". No, in fact they don't. They do offer some similar services,but you're exaggerating quite a bit. Furthermore, if there's all these sites that offer the same thing for free, why are you here?

I've been known to have a grievance or two, but I try to base it on something real. I don't even know what this guy is upset about. Money tournaments for noob players? Online? Lmao! Yea, Hikaru and Danya will be playing on their speedrun accounts! At a time there's question if they can police the Sinquefield Cup, they'll need to staff up to track 100000 users in these events. For free of course! Lol.

Why Is Chess.com dying? Well. I have an answer. In the early chess, there wan'st tecnlogy to create a new chess online game. When chess.com was created, everything changed: They was more things that chess here, not only chess. But, now, chess.com is getting old. Lot of new online chess games are created. ever the developers from this game created a ChessKid! Well, resuming that chess.com is dying because of it's age, and of it's time it takes for an update to come. Do you think chess.com is dying? Please share your opinion!
