Subway?  Quiznos?  Jersey Mike's? Jimmy John's?  Blimpie's?

Or tell me which you like.

In the L.A. area, you can't beat Canter's or Langer's for great pastrami sandwiches, but they are a long drive.

This is all Luka's fault!!

Canters?  What are you living in the 60s?  Izzy's deli in Santa Monica is much better.  There is even a better place in west LA, but I cannot think of it.

Avatar of JamieDelarosa

I have heard of Izzy's on Whileshire, but have never been there.

I have fond memories of going to Canter's after the bars closed at 2:00 AM, just to get some food and those wonderful pastries.  And to sober up too.

But Canter's, like Langers and Izzy's, is a stand alone.

Could the other one be Wexler's?

Avatar of vacation4me

could be, Wexlers.  Yes, Izzy's is a stand alone.  I think the sub places are not that good for pastrami.  They are better at standard cold cuts

Just remember, if a pastrami sandwinch is better than nothing and nothing's better than going to heaven, then a pastrami sandwinch is better than going to heaven, right ?

....and don't forget the mustard potato salad & Dr. Brown's Soda....Smile....

Joakim, you always surprise me......your knowledge about food of Germany is impressing!

Germany - old dry piece of bread and little piece of cheese

No idea where all the calories come from........

Pastrami on pumpernickel???

Yuck.

I assume that every connoisseur of breads is aware that "pumpernickel" can be loosely translated as "devil's flatulence", right?

It is not pumpernickel, just plain Rye. Danes eat everything on the black Rye bread using knife and fork (so the topping do not fall off).

The sandwiches are "open", one sided, called "smoerrebroed".
