Green cheek conures and pigeons are beautiful birds
Though I live in a small city this area of New York/Pennsylvania is very rural. I'm often out hiking, backpacking, kayaking, or just lazing the day away in the woods. When I was young I never thought I'd see a bald eagle because pesticides had pretty much wiped them out of the lower 48 states. Now it's rare we don't see one while kayaking. Here's one of many pictures I've taken of them.
My favorite songbird is the Wood Thrush. Recordings don't do it justice. They have two voice boxes and their call doesn't seem to come from any direction, it just fills the air. They're known to have up to 12 phrases they link in random order. The All About Birds - Wood Thrush site has a better recording than any I found on youtube but here's one anyway.
