of course chess is the best boardgame.

but I think other boardgames are great.

The best boardgame that I ever played was in the 80's. I borrowed a game from a toy library. It was like a whodunnit game [ No it was not any form of cluedo] where you were given a crime scene and clues and you had 3 guesses. There was an electronic device that you pushed for guesses. The cases were clever and the criminal wasn't often who you suspected.

I have forgotten what the board game was called. It was American.
