Catch-22 by Joesph Heller
Very funny and well written.
The main character Yossarian a bombardier attempts to avoid air combat during the war. I see it has a one mans attmept to get out of the system using the failing system to do so. If you don't follow the system you are deemed to be mad as portrayed by our hero Yossarian.
The only way out of flying more missions is to be confirmed mad but the fact is by admitting he is mad for flying more mission proves that he is sane so therefore should go back to flying missions.
