NOW YOU SEE ME 2,This movie is known as a summer movie, high on adrenaline low on substance,Wham, bam thank you mam !Its a doppleganger of the original,Woody Harrelson plays 2 roles and neither of the two are very convincing. Before Woody became an actor ,he was a professional hitman ,Fact is always stranger than fiction ![6.5~10]

Another Film worth watching is "The Shawshank Redemption" (1994).An American drama film starring Tim Robbins and the iconic actor Morgan Freeman. The film tells the story of Andy Dufresne a Banker who is wrongly convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover and sentenced to life imprisonment in Shawshank State Penetentiary. The core of the story centres around Dufresne's experiences in the prison including the brutality and interaction with the inmates and guards and in particular the Warden who employed Dufresne to keep records of illicit money dealings by the said Warden.Dufresne was determined to escape and to this end obtained tools and a life sized poster of the Hollywood actress Rita Hayworth to conceal his tunneling activities in his cell.Eventually he was able to effect an escape taking with him records of the Warden's dishonest money transactions which he directed to the authorities. The authorities went to the prison to arrest the Warden but he shot himself before the arrest-good riddance! Andy Dufresne was then able to evade recapture and as far as we know lived happily ever after.A bit of Justice at the end.I recommend this good dramatic well acted film.

Again a back catalog classic,Witmag ,one that stuck in my head from that era THE GREEN MILE, Tom Hanks relates a story of a" Dead Man Walking"inmate he encountered in his younger days as a prison guard in the deep south. It still resonates with me to this day ,

NEIGHBORS 2 ,SORORITY RISING

An extremely funny movie based around the generation gap .Great one liners and comedic sketches abound ,A 30 something couple await the finalisation of the sale of their house but a major problem arises when a sorority move in next door .Not to be missed! [9~10]

BLACK ROAD (SCI-FI) .

A genetically engineered human is hired by an estranged female for protection against her ex-husband and former cult leader,Sketchy plot and meandering dialogue do little to enhance this hum drum thriller

SEA OF TREES (DRAMA) Mathew Mc Connaghy, A continually waring couple ,find their world turned upside down, when its discovered that the wife has a tumour,The subject matter in this film is ultra depressing and fates cruel hand is apparent throughout. Its not going to be everybodys cup of tea! Paradoxically it leaves one feeling uplifted ,to understand why you,ll have to labour through its darkest scenes ,if your stamina dosen't desert you first ,[8~10]

Sea of trees (epilogue) This movie was panned at the Cannes film festival for among other things "tugging at the heart strings."What the critics miss are the questions that will haunt you after the movie ends .A line from the movie MMcCsays "God is more our creation than we are his.".Does MMcC's character undergo an ephipany , ?and is there a presence that guides us all even through the hardest of times?.Does God actually send angels to help us when despair has captured our souls ? This movie will affect you on many levels,Most reviews I do are bubblegum ,chew it up and spit it out ,This movie however is thought provoking, real food for thought.!!!!!!!

SEPTEMBERS OF SHIRAZ(Drama)

Adrien Brody stars as an Iranian Jewish gemologist ,whos caught up in the Iranian revoution,This is a very human story,It exposes peoples weaknesses and vices .One asks oneself what would I do to my oppressors if the tables were turned,?The story revolves around two very different kinds of people ,one a former insurgent prisoner who suffered torture under the U.S. backed Shahs regime and post uprising is now a prison interrogator,he and his Jewish prisoner must finally come to terms with their new found reality [8.5~10]

BLOOD FATHER (action) {Mel Gibson} .If you've ever thought to yourself that a gangsters life is somehow glamerous, this movie will set you straight on that score ! This is vintage Gibson ,Mel plays a reformed alcoholic ex con whos leading a quiet exsistence in the desert. His young runaway daughter shows up out of the blue having fallen foul of highranking gangsters.Shes being hunted by a cartel executioner (among others) and needs her dads help to somehow stay alive. This is no fairytale reunion as both go on the run to avoid being murdered .No one can be trusted, and if that wasn't enough for one day, the police issue a $30,000 reward for their capture and are hot on their trail !

I rate this flick in the same class as Pacinos Scarface. [9.5~ 10]

Anothe film well worth a view is  "Ice Cold in Alex" (1958).Starred iconic actors including John Mills,Anthony Quayle,Harry Andrews and Sylvia Syms.It focussed on events in the Western desert Campaign in World War 2.During a retreat from Tobruk an allied ambulance was evacuated and made an epic journey to reach British lines. The interpersonal relations between the occupants was gripping.Human frailty, sacrifice and bravery in the atmosphere of enemy action was manifest,En route the group  picked up "an Afrikaner South African Capt van der Poel "(Anthony Quayle). He was in fact a German (with a transmitter in a bag) and had adopted the identity of a dead SA soldier whose dog-tag he had removed from the body.van der Poel was able to save the group by using his body strength to facilitate the transport of the ambulance up a steep desert hillside to reach the track to Alexandria. When his Identity was discovered he was "arrested" by the fellow travellers. On arrival the final scene took place in a bar where all enjoyed ice cold lager-made me thirsty just to view that scene. The Military police were called and as they entered the bar to arrest van der Poel Capt Anson (John Mills) noted that he still had the dog-tag of the deceased Saffa soldier around his neck.He managed to discretely rip it off van der Poel(who had gained the respect of the fellow travellers). If he had been found with the dog tag on he would have undoubtedly been shot as a spy. those interested to view this film I believe it is available on YOUtube.

THE LEGEND OF TARZAN, Alexander Skarsgard,Samuel .L.Jackson

For those of you like me raised on Johnny Weissmullers ,"me tarzan ,youJane" will be pleasently surprised by this adaptation of the classic Tarzan novel. The intoroduction of a piece of history can convince the viewer that the events taking place are somehow for real ,They're not of course. Great casting makes for an enjoyable adventure set in the breathtaking African bush,Jane is used as bait to lure Tarzan to his death ,but Tarzan is a hardman to kill [ 7.5~ 10]
