Life is a process involving matter that shows certain attributes that include responsiveness, growth, energy transformation, metabolism, and reproduction according to its own kind. Life forms are comprised of individual living beings, assignable to groups (taxa). Each individual is composed of one or more minimal living units, called cells, and is capable of transformation of carbon-based and other compounds (metabolism), growth, and participation in reproductive acts.

Based on the definition of life by Carl Sagan.

I stress that I am asking "CAN" not "SHOULD".

Well, so far 2 out 3 replys have more to do with "should" verses "could". Shreckm8 is a faith based answer but he does seem to go to the issue of "can".
