Matt, if its a reliable second hand car you want,go far a Japanesse made car everytime, they're built to last, and they do...I've got a second hand '96 Mitsubishi, never had a problem with it,great cars.

both my parents have Fords. an expedition and an explorer. we've had both of them for about a year with no problems and my dad had a little jeep liberty which was a greatcar. but even before that he had an 80's ford with little to no problems.japanese cars just ruin the economy.
and do they have Fords in Canada?
When I was younger and in the budget market like yourself, I always had Fords. Never ever had a problem with them and found them to be reliable and affordable to run.
I have a Volvo XC90 now, which is easily the best car I ever owned and I include Mercs and Beamers there, well worth it if you have the dosh!
I hear all this good stuff about fords :). Anyways, good news is that those german cars are tanks... no white smoke, no more leaking, no high temperatures, no loss of power, no clue what happened... lol.
I'm currently driving a '93 VW Passat VR6.
Unfortunately my coolant started to leak about a week ago and I was recently called by the garage that I took it to and told that the head gaskets are cracked and that the car might not have much life left in it.
Therefore... I started looking for a new one.
Now here's my question to all of you who drive cars (4 Door prefered).
- What do you drive? And do you reccomend it? Most importantly how is the efficiency/pricing?
Thanks in advance for the help my fellow nerds :).
