castles

very easy for a rampaging horde to attack though brianchesscake , brick up the bottom windows , build a moat , and maybe it will stand the test of time

you may notice in a few castles they are situated near rivers , this is not only to look pretty but as a means to break sieges that would otherwise leave the defenders cut off from supplies ,

ok castle fans , lets test your knowledge the next few pics i wont say location , thats your job , have fun and dont worry if you dont guess correctly

I haven't been to many castles, here is one that's really close to my home:
It's name is Krzyżtopór, translates to something like cross-axe, it was supposed to be the royals' occasionally residence rather than a fortress, as you can see it does not have so many defending qualities.
Was supposed to be Europe's most beautiful castle, but Sweden attacked Poland before the castle was finished, destroyed some of it, and this castle never did get fully built.

it certainly has defensive features , the gatehouse especially , would be a big obstacle to attackers

it's got too many windows for my taste, was supposed to be 365 if I'm not mistaken, when the enemy passes through the most outter walls, the defenders wouldn't be able to defend too long behind the next walls.
Not sure if it's got a well, been there many years ago. Below the red roof beside the gatehouse there could be a well.

mind you can you just imagine the hussars sallying out just as the wall gets breached and 365 windows smash to reveal crossbow wielders
but yeah lots of weak points
