Vampires!

There are many families out there, and life is always boring. Nothing ever happens.   But sometimes something does happen, especially when you least expect it

Castaline was a vampire, who lurked in the shadows. She had not had blood for a long time. She needed blood!   The family didn’t even know she was there.  They all suspected nothing.  Time was running.  Soon the sun would come up.  Castaline could almost feel it on he back.  Humans had destroyed the entire vampire population!  Castaline was the last of her kind. She wanted revenge.   She could repopulate the vampires and depopulate the humans if she sucked enough blood. But she hadn’t had good blood for a century!  She had to drink water. It tasted awful but it was all she needed to keep alive. But it didn’t keep her healthy. She needed some blood. Real blood!  She needed opportunity.  She was thinking and thinking of ways to strike back!  She knew little children cut themselves and bleed all the time, she also knew halloween was the perfect time to strike.  But she had failed year after year on halloween. She tried during other times, once she even tried on christmas but the joy was more than she could handle.  However halloween was coming up.   She knew people dressed up as ghosts, princesses, goblins, and vampires!  Everyone would think she was in a costume.  All she had to do was attend a halloween party. But she had always tried that, it was always a failure. But alas! This time she would suckseed! She would no longer be a failure. She was gonna drink blood if it was the last thing she did!   But she needed to clarify her plan.  It needed much deeper details.  She knew halloween was the perfect time  but there was more. There were a billion people out there and only one vampire. If only she could wipe out the human population the way they wiped out he brothers and sisters and parents and teachers and cousins and tutors and friends and…  But she couldn’t leave anyone behind!  Or they might get revenge  and there could be eternal war! Then again, could one human really defeat a gazillion vampires?  The thoughts were buzzing around her brain.  She could attend a halloween party, pretend to only be dressed up as a vampire  and get a sleeping potion and suck their blood in their sleep?!? Where on earth would she get a sleeping potion?  Such things only existed in fairy tales. But humans thought vampires only existed in fairy tales or vampire tales or any other kind of tale.  But they were wrong! Maybe they would be wrong again about the sleeping potion.  Castaline knew a witch named Polla. Polla wasn’t really a witch, she was just a really creepy lady who could brew up lots of potions.  Maybe Polla could brew up a sleeping potion. But Polla was a good lady.  If she knew the evil plan she wouldn’t brew up that potion if she got payed!  But maybe if she didn’t tell Polla the reason then Polla might brew it up.  But a sleeping potion is really strange. She would  probably ask about it.  Castaline thought up a lie before hand. She would tell Polla it was a halloween prank. Polla believes everything she hears. Of course she would fall for it!   Halloween was in three days. The plan was almost complete! By now the sun had totally risen.   Castaline climbed into her coffin and went to sleep.

chapter two

Castaline woke up several hours later.  She had completely forgotten the plan! Wasn’t it something about visiting Polla?  Why on earth would she do that? It was part of the plan but Castaline was still having trouble remembering it.   There was a sleeping potion and a halloween party and Castaline suddenly remembered the plan. But then she realized that something was wrong with it. How would she insert the potion onto everyone? She could put it in the fruit punch. Or she could say it was the fruit punch.  But there wasn’t a halloween party that Castaline knew about it. Castaline would have to plan it herself.   But she knew nothing about party planning.  All she knew was that it was a get together with food and games.  What kind of food did they have at a party? Castaline just wasn’t sure.  She lived on blood and blood only. What did humans eat?  What kind of decorations did they like? Castaline didn’t even know to research it. She thought and thought. But she couldn’t come up with anything.   It was all so unclear.  Castaline snuck upstairs, surely she could discover some stuff.  She was looking for answers in this thing they called a “book.”  She lost balance standing on a stool and a pile of books fell down.  Castaline checked to see if she woke anyone up, everybody was sound asleep.  Castaline opened a book called How to plan the perfect party.  She flipped through the pages.  There was a list of foods that humans ate. Chips, popcorn, pizza, soda…  But Castaline didn’t even know what those things were, or what they looked like. She groaned.  “This is hopeless!” She told herself. Than she heard footsteps. She had woken someone up.  Castaline crept back into the basement with the book.  Maybe there were some pictures of what the food looked like.   Than all she had to do was find a match.  But there weren’t any pictures.  This really did seem hopeless. Castaline felt like crying. Maybe she could just buy some food from the store and serve it at the party. But she would be seen as a vampire, it wasn’t halloween just yet.  She needed a disguise.  The basement was where the Taylors kept all their costume stuff.  Castaline put on a yellow wig. It made it look like she had yellow hair. She put on a purple dress.  She wore leggings to cover up her green skin.  She also wore gloves and used makeup. Her  disguise was complete, how did she know about costumes? She found it in her halloween book.  Than she snuck out to a store. It was closed.  The door was locked but a window was open.  The wig was really itchy. Castaline climbed in and grabbed a few random foods. She didn’t even know what she had grabbed.  She didn’t even pay for it!  She hurried back before the sun could come up. She looked at the food. It was labeled  Saltine Crackers, Chocolate cupcakes, celery, and fish.  The fish looked disgusting. Humans ate this?  Castaline threw it away.  Everything else looked like it was in good hands.  The sun was almost up. Castaline climbed into her coffin. Tomorrow she would organize the the time and place and decorations of the party.

It was many hours before Castaline was awake again.   The food was all settled, it looked amazing. The cupcakes looked especially  awesome.  Castaline wondered what it tasted like. She opened the package and put one of the chocolaty delights into her mouth.  It was amazing, it tasted almost as good as blood itself!  Still,  the party was more than just food.  According to the book it needed decorations.  They used to have blood parties before  the vampire population dwindled.  The vampires would each have a cup filled from top to bottom with fresh blood.  There were different kinds of blood. But human blood was the best. It tasted rich and creamy and warm.  A glass of blood to a vampire was like an ice cream sundae to a human.  Castaline had attended many of the parties. They all took place on halloween. Castaline knew about decorations from those parties.  They had banners with words written in blood.  Banners with words written in blood! That was what Castaline would do.  She took a small bottle of blood she had been saving for years. Blood was blood.  It never  got spoiled.  Castaline dipped a feather in the liquid.  She wrote an invite to the halloween party. But she still needed to figure out when and where the party would be. The when was obvious.  Halloween! of course.   But what was a public place that lots of people go to? Castaline flipped through the book.  She couldn’t find anything! All it did was suggest foods and decor. Decor?!? The party still needed decor.  Castaline would work that out later. She decided to focus on writing the invite. She would tape it to a tree publicly for everyone to look at it.  But she needed many copies all over the city! Castaline really needed some blood. She was puzzling on it all. What would she write on the invite?  Castaline had never thrown a party before.   The only parties she had been to were the blood parties. If only they could have those again. Those were so much fun!! Castaline didn’t know what to write. Should she make it fancy or simple?!? Maybe there was another book on it. Castaline snuck upstairs.  She looked for books and found a book called How to write the best invite.   Castaline went back into the basement and began to read. The book was telling her about how to write an invite. It was so inspiring! It gave Castaline the perfect idea. She grabbed the paper and began to write.

Congrats, you people of the world. I’ve got a special treat for you.  Come see me at Plytho Park, come to this party in the dark.

Come and eat as much as you please,  it’s so warm you’ll never freeze.

Halloween night, oh what a fright, at 8:00 sharp, you will come or I’ll be in  despair. Let’s get this straight, I’ll see you there.

Castaline was tired but she knew she would have to make copies. But that was too much work. Castaline wanted to use the thing humans call a “Printing Machine”  But she could get blood on the machine and they might suspect something. This wasn’t gonna be pretty. Castaline worked for three hours making copies. And she didn’t even have time to put them all out for the world to look at! In half an hour the sun would come up. Castaline opened up her coffin. She put everything in. She quickly climbed in herself and closed the lid.  Soon the sun would be up. The night was over. It was time for Castaline to rest.

chapter three

Soon it was night time again. In was 9:00 when Castaline woke up. Castaline was confident people would see it soon.  She went to the park to set up.  She wasn’t sure what to set the food on but she found some picnic tables, she could leave the food there overnight.  She placed all the food on there.  But there was still the decor!  She could probably find some at a party store. Wow! For a vampire, Castaline knew a lot about humans.  She decided to walk around until she found a party store.  But she could not find one.  It was hopeless!  Wouldn’t she ever find some good decor? The book had said that decor just had to be there.  She tried looking harder. No luck!  This was hopeless.  But Castaline was a vampire. And vampires don’t give in!  Castaline had to use her imagination.  She went back to the Taylor’s house.  She only had a few hours before morning.  It was 4:30 at night.  At 6:30 the morning would begin.  She went home and into the basement. Castaline couldn’t figure it out in either book! She needed another book! Castaline quickly searching for a book. By the time she found the perfect book it was an hour ‘till daylight.  An hour ‘till sunrise. An hour ‘till the humans come out.  The books was called Crafts for the perfect halloween party.  Castaline flipped through the book. She founds crafts for banners, paper ghosts and all sorts of things! How she gonna make all this? She only had an hour.  The book said that pumpkins make great halloween party decor.   So Castaline went out. She walked for what felt like hours, until she found a pumpkin  patch. This thing was filled with pumpkins!  Castaline had to  take a look at them in order to find the perfect two. She felt that two pumpkins would be perfect for the party.  They had to be plump not fat.  Orange not gold or yellow.  After what felt like forever Castaline found the perfect two pumpkins.  Castaline dragged them to the park. Boy were those things heavy! Each one felt like it weighed a hundred pounds! Than she set them up.  It was now only twenty minutes until the sun came up. Castaline went home. Tomorrow she would have to hang up the invites.  Castaline opened up the coffin. She crawled inside. She fell asleep. When she woke up she was ready to spring her trap.   Tons and tons and tons of people had come to the party. They had come by the thousands! It looked like the entire town had come!  Castaline rubbed her hands together and stepped onto a stage.  “Like my vampire costume?” She asked in a creepy voice.  “Creepy, isn’t it?” She asked. “Please, help yourself, there’s plenty and all to spare.” She said. Soon everyone was laughing and talking and eating and… sleeping? The potion had worked! Castaline drank blood to her heart’s content. “Blood party!” She said to herself. Too bad the other vampires had been killed by the humans, then she could  hang out with her friends.  But not everyone had drunk   the potion. The remaining people told the mayor who held a meeting to decide what to do about Castaline.

“We must do something!” The mayor said. Nobody was paying attention.  A man was reading the newspaper. A woman was painting her nails. “Order!” “Order!” The mayor called. “We have vampires at stake!” He said. At the word “vampire” everyone stopped to listen. “As you all know, a female vampire attacked half the town!” The mayor said. “We must rescue them.”  Someone stood up. “But they must be vampires too.” She said. The mayor thought about that for a second.  “We’ll do them away like we did to the others.” Said the mayor.  “And suck their blood?” Someone asked. “Vampires don’t have blood.” The mayor slapped his forehead. “NO, got any plans?” He asked.  “You could travel back in time to before she struck and warn them to be careful of vampires and not to drink the punch!” A man said.  “Time travel isn’t possible.” Said the mayor. “Before this happened, we doubted vampires were even real.”  Someone said. “You have a point.” Said the mayor. “You there!” He pointed to a trembling man in the back. “What’s your name?” The mayor asked. “L-Luke.” Said the man. “Luke, you will time travel.” Said the mayor. “Meeting over.” Luke didn’t know how to time travel, the knew a friendly witch named Polla who could help him.  Yes, the same Polla. He headed over to her cave.  There, he explained everything! “Castaline tricked me.”  Said Polla.  “Yes, “ Said Luke, “She did.” Polla began screaming. “Just make the time traveling potion.” Said LUke. “You did it before!” He said. “Then I was smart and young.” She said. “You are smart and young.” Said Luke, but it was clear he didn’t mean it.  Polla mixed the brew. Luke went back in time and  warned the people about the party.  Castaline in the meantime, was waiting for people to come. “Nobody is coming.” She thought. “Oh well.”  She needed a new plan. Special and thrilling! One that would turn you, dear reader, into a vampire…
