I don't, who puts chess in a forum website?
Chess - Do you play and why??

Did 4k mention the "C" word on otf? This is a punishable offense, and I think a petition to get you banned is necessary.

I had other phrases but this was the least offensive

I went to a book shop when I was 5, and there was a person there playing chess. There he taught me how to play.

I'm still waiting for the OTF community policies... happy to enforce them.

I started playing in grade 3 or 4. I found a book in the school library. Took me until I was in university to beat my father at chess.

if “che**” is said on the otf section, I think an ip ban is definitely needed.
I do.
About 6 or 7 years back I went into a shop. There were a couple old guys playing chess in the back. I thought to myself "looks like a good way to waste time" and immediately looked for an App. BAM here I landed. I did the lessons to learn how the pieces moved, even En Passant and casting. Then I dove right in throwing pieces around, or pixels in this case. Lost tons of ELO and YOLO no hecks given. After a few years of getting beat online, I figured I was ready to meet other chess people. I entered a tournament that close by my house. Then I had to buy a tournament chess set, a clock and I learn what the heck I need a USCF membership also?? Did it.
Tournament day is closing in... I'm practicing openings, Watching Gotham Chess and other YouTube chess content. I figured it was in the bag... It was a state championship tournament with 160+ entries and a couple GMs. Then I crapped my pants. What the heck did I get into?? Welp, went and got mopped up in the U1000 section. I went 1/5 totally sucked. Then I realized how complex it was and when you have a real piece in your hand you think a lot harder about losing it. It was over. After that day I really feel in the rabbit hole. Collecting chess sets, playing constantly, staring a local club, hosting tournaments. I've been consumed by chess.
What's your story??
