Hello guys. This forum is for people who like to write stories. You can share anything you want about your stories or about writing in general, as long as it’s not against chess.com site rules. It would be cool to learn about what motivates or inspires you to write, what genre you like to write about, or whether you prefer writing short stories or novels. Or you can share anything else related to your writing. I want to create a space where people can comfortably ask each other questions and share their joy for this meaningful hobby.

I’ve started so many stories that I have abandoned because I didn’t like them, and for other reasons too. I started a story in January and got pretty far by February, but it was becoming too emotionally difficult to write it; the main characters kept struggling with many emotional difficulties, and I got so emotionally invested in them. I finished the first chapter of a new novel yesterday. So far I’m happy with what I’ve written. I’ll see how it goes.
I told one of my friends last weekend that if I only published one novel in my entire life, it would be either horror or a psychological thriller. My new story is a horror story / psychological thriller.
