Chess The Spiritual Game?

Hey there guys. I know, throughout history, chess has taken many different view points. Some people consider chess to be a spiritual game, some consider it to be a religious game. Some consider it to be a competitive sport? Some simply consider it a game.

What do you all consider it?

Also, just curious, I wonder how many priests or other individuals of religion play chess on here. Silly question to ask but I am curious lol.

Chess, especially when played in person, is a game of emotion and passion.

Wit and strategy are important, but knowing how your opponent will react, both on the board and emotionally, creating distressing or complicated positions, and taking advantage of your opponent’s feelings can come a long way.

Controlling your own emotional state is important too. A distressed mind can think sloppily.

Damn, I probably sound like an arrogant abuser. Sorry ;-;

Chess is war, chess is love.

Now I sound like an amateur poet.

Chess is kinda nonsense tbh. Whats a rook, why don't the knights move forward while capturing pieces, like a real cavalry unit, why is the QUEEN fighting, why are bishops fighting, how can a pawn become a queen so fast, why does "en passant" even exist, why can the king pretty much swap spots with a castle, and why do pawns become useless when they're face to face

I apologize in advance.

When enemy pawns face each other, they fall in love and kiss uncontrollably. This is why they can move no longer; they don’t want to.
