Chess with inmates

Someone should start a forum for inmates in each particular state, and also with the Federal Bureau of Prisons for federal inmates. Recently, federal inmates were given access to email at many facilities. Contact the FBOP (fbop.org maybe) and find out what's available. Many inmates play chess in prison and a forum for them would be great news!
As an ex-inmate I can tell you there are some brilliant players in prisons, this should be tapped but the real reason many are so good is that they have one resourse in abundance, time to practice.

Don't judge Leth, can't help but notice that you have all the makings of a stoner, the music you like, your profile pic, your choice of videos ;). Not mention you're from BC! That's where all the good Canadian chron comes from! Keep in mind that kind of lifestyle can make you an inmate in many areas of the US of A! It's not like he is asking for murderers and rapists, he just said inmates. Could be tax fraud for all we know.

I’ve played many games with inmates as a member of the Correspondence Chess League of America. All the ones I ever played were by post card…maybe that’s all they are allowed. Even had a couple get released while our game was in progress. One had been doing 20 years for armed robbery and told me he had gotten a job in a gun factory…go figure! I also met one at an OTB event after he got out. All of them seemed genuinely friendly and best of all they were prompt in their replies. Except for one guy who got transferred right in the middle of our game and disappeared for a while. Then there was the guy who also disappeared for a few weeks and told me all his chess stuff was confiscated in a shakedown. None ever showed up at my door though.
Does anyone know of an outlet to play chess with inmates?
