Cigarettes are the little cheap ones while cigars are the stereotypical brown ones which are wider.

I smoke 2 cigars a year. I smoke no cigarettes. Cigars smell good and cigarettes smell bad

My grandad smoked cigars. I take time to sit and think of him and smoke a cigar in his honour on the anniversaries of his birthday and the day he died.
