I work in a pathology lab. We received a cancerous lung that was removed in the OR. While we grossed the lung a guy from the hospital housekeeping service was cleaning up in the cutting room and was curious about what we were doing. I took the opportunity to show him the cancerous portions and the blackening that occurred in the non-cancerous areas (from smoking). A couple of months later he ran into me and said he had not smoked since that day. He was 25.
Cigarettes?
I used to play chess in a park. People would sit down and watch the games and light up a cigarette and blow the smoke in my face. And they couldn't understand why I got mad! Now we have formed a chess club in the public library and in Mayor Bloomberg's libraries smoking is verbooten and I say thank you Bloomberg. I'm not your fan, would never vote for you but at least you saved me from a disgusting cancer causing gas attack. I believe there should be a death penalty for anyone who smokes. Even if they smoke in their own house, they are doing harm to their family members. Normally I am against the death penalty but they're going to die anyway from their obnoxious weed so why not give me the pleasure of watching them hang?
Sorry, if I missed some responses to this as I haven't read this entire thread and I don't intend on it. I got to a this post and couldn't go on.
I wanted to quote this post so some people can read this paragraph. I really don't know whether to laugh or cry. Are there really people that are this hateful? I'm sure someone close to you was affected and that is the reason for your passion... but I hope this post is not serious.
I would wonder what are your thoughts on alcohol, gun control, and abortion although I already think I know the answers.
Also, an ordained minister.... very interesting.

Could it be because of where you work?
Just a thought, if you were a police officer and had witnessed a drive by shooting/attended the aftermarth.
Would you cease living in a dwelling?
Just curious.
NM, you must suffer mental health issues, all I can really say.
There is no answer for what you have written.
It comes across worse than a foul mouthed spoilt rotten little child would say and I mean a lot worse.
You need to seak medical advice and the sooner the better. Honestly.
What brand do you smoke, George?
Longbeach Rich, they're 8 mil in strength, roughly in the middle. : ) Don't know if you would have heard of them
Its not only the lungs smoking damages.
Friends husband 52, fit, plays football every week, slim build, eats healthily... Heart attack three weeks ago.
His arteries have narrowed due to smoking.
The axe could fall at any minute George
Smoking might be fantastic for some but not for me....sorry .....I hate the smell of it..why should I put up with that smell??? It's nasty! If you want to smoke is fine....is your business......but dont make others who dont like it be part of your stinky habit....
I also dont get it.....working so hard for your money and then you smoke it??? and at the same time you are hurting yourself and others??? just doesnt make sense.
i agree! your reasoning is impeccable
Ask the OP he started it and he smokes..I guess it's what us humans do..Discuss things that is..Welcome to the forums longisland Mark.
Some time i smoke but when i was in a class , train , airplane , bus or in my flat i go in some private area for smoke and start smoke when i finish i come back to my previous place , I'm a computer & IT trainer when i teach some group and one or some of them need to smoke they smoke in a park in some private place for smoking , I'm an arbiter in chess games some players need to smoke they tell me then they leave the place for smoking and after finishing they come back.
'sup dudes ?
Now that's one cool looking monkey. Do you think he would look that cool if he didn't smoke and he's even wearing glasses.
Looking cool out weighs any effects you may incur at 80-90 years old...!

Not trying to offend here. I have asked many people this question.
How many people do you know up to now that have died because of smoking, or even possibly? I then ask how many people do you know have died through non related smoking reasons?
Try it for yourselves, quite overwhelming. I have asked many people over....let's say 8-10 months and easily mid-high 90's, nothing to do with smoking.
Try asking just half a dozen people. : 0
Are you serious? Have you just beamed in from the 1970s? The medical evidence is without question but you prefer to believe that ur micro view of the world disproves all the health concerns. amazing!
We know that you know there bad for you ...So we enjoy reading your comments more George..
