Ideas are spread on social media websites. QAnon is proof of that.

Qanon was here?

No. It was on 4Chan. But it goes to show the role online sites play in the spread of ideas

Perhaps it goes to show more why they did not choose chess.com

I live on the west coast. How worried should I be about hurricanes?

Not at all. It's been proven scientifically beyond doubt that a sharpie can divert hurricanes

Wits-end

I need to know where to get one of those sharpies.

Wits-end

Do you just write with them above your door posts so the hurricane will just Passover?

Since it's also called a marker, we asked the expert, Mark, but we're getting conflicting information now.

No it requires drawing over maps

but as I said we're still confirming with experts.

I live in New Mexico, so we don't have to worry about natural disastershappy.png

Yes you do. They're called Wildfires

KingBanana11

That's not natural though. It starts with campers making a fire

Some of them are caused by lightning (especially dry lightning)

Please correct me if I get some things wrong,

Long ago in southern China, a man discovered a strange black rock which was later on called coal. The Chinese were excited since keeping warm was hard back then and they used to only burn wood. They somehow discovered that this strange black rock could catch on fire. Over time humans have discovered they could use coal to their advantage, liquid that comes from coal is called petroleum. There are multiple types of petroleum and the type of petroleum we use in cars is called gasoline. We also created a vehicle called a steam engine train that made big factories possible. Another type of gas we use is called natural gas which is found underground, we use it for cooking and heating our homes. People started burning large amounts of coal, oil and natural gas to power their homes, factories and vehicles. We also burn them to keep us warm. Let’s take a look at another factor that contributes to climate change, greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gasses exist naturally in the atmosphere and traps heat. These gasses help heat the earth but after the earth has absorbed a lot of energy from the sun, the earth cools down by giving off infrared radiation. Before the radiation can escape into outer space, the greenhouse gasses absorb some and trap it. This helps heat the atmosphere. Greenhouse gasses are CO2, methane and water vapor. We create carbon dioxide by burning fossil fuels, burning gasoline, cutting down trees and manufacturing substances. Methane comes from raising livestock, landfills, producing and transporting natural gas, and mining coal. Methane stays in the atmosphere for about 12 years. You may be asking yourself what fossil fuels are, well guess what you’re in luck I’ll explain them to you. Fossil fuels are naturally found in oceans, ancient dead plants, soil, coal, oil and natural gas. Carbon is moved from one place from the world to another through the carbon cycle. Humans have been artificially making carbon which adds more of it to the carbon cycle, natural processes are too slow to remove them so more carbon gets in the atmosphere. Climate change has been changing, how do we know that you ask? Scientists gather information about CO2 in the atmosphere by taking air samples from places, scientists also use ice cores which have several layers which contain bubbles that have CO2 in them throughout the years. Scientists analyze the bubbles to see how much CO2 there is. The Arctic is melting away because of global warming, glaciers are melting which is increasing the ocean level. An interesting fact is that as water gets warmer, the more it expands. Climate change has affected us through diseases, severe storms and heat waves which affect our health. Climate change has also affected energy use, water supply, plants, animals and ecosystems to name a few. When we use air conditioners we’re wasting energy, the hotter it is outside the more we use it hence wasting more energy. Climate change has created droughts, which lead to limited water use, some cities and areas depend on lakes, rivers and other sources for water, this leads to a decrease in water levels. Climate change has made it so some animals that live in areas that have turned hotter migrate to colder regions. Climate change also affects when plants sprout which some sprout earlier than usual causing animals that are hibernating to wake up early. Climate change makes wetlands near the ocean to flood with salt water, decreasing the area of habitat for animals. Ocean acidification is created by climate change, when water from the ocean absorbs CO2 it affects animals with shells by breaking down their shells which kills them. Lastly climate change has led one of the most diverse beautiful creatures to decrease in population is coral. Temperatures rising causes the ocean temperature to increase, this leads coral which is sensitive to temperature to ejecting algae which causes the coral to turn white, coral bleaching which kills the coral.
