it is far from speculation.  We can see back to very close to the big bang.

The fact that there was a bang is strongly supported by all collected evidence.  The question is not if.  But why?  How?  what if anything was before?

It's not really supported very well. We can't really know how it began with any empirical certainty.

the big bang famously has "four pillars" of direct observational evidence.

contradictory theories have zero that I'm aware of.

I do not claim to believe that the big bang was "the beginning" but it certainly is responsible for the universe we can observe.

The Big Bang theory is quite reliable. So the question is random chance vs intelligent being. That is a question that has a real answer.

1. Red Shift

2. The night sky is pretty much void in many places

3. Universe is expanding, concluded from #1

If you had 3 favorable outcomes out of 6 in total on one side, and had 5 favorable outcomes out of 6 in total on the other side, and it's said that if the die (i'm taking a die, for instance) falls on any favorable outcome you'd win your wish, which side would you choose?

not true.

an omnipotent being may have simply written the laws of nature, and let them loose.  the known universe we live in could still be random chance.

That is Deism by definition, in which there was a creator but let it loose. However, in religion there is no such one.

It's not gambling. There's nothing at stake here.

I’d take the 3 die cause I want to be fair, but that my point of fairness

Avatar of hitthepin

Fair against who? Your only opponent is luck.

I would say that the 5/6 variation sounds to good to be true, and in cases like that, it usually turns out to be exactly that.

So again, I would not play

What if it was true, then?
