Convince the Competition!

Often, we hold opinions for which we have no reasons as to why we believe as we do. For those who would like this to change: ENTER THIS CONTEST!!!!

The Topic: Which grandmaster will win the World Championship this year?

How to Participate: 1) Decide who you want to promote.

                                             2) Give evidence to support your position. Your    evidence could range anywhere from an article in Chess Life magazine to a website. Wikipedia, about.com, ehow, etc. are allowed but will not be considered very credible. If these sites are your only evidence, you might not win. You must have at least one source.

                                             3) Write a  5-15 sentence paragraph persuading people that you are correct. Please include this in the comments. If you feel the requirements are a little much, please let me know in the comments. I only care about participation.

How the Winner is Chosen: 1) I will choose the best subissions to move on to Level 2. Any number of entries can move on. My primary focus is the quality of your work and how well you adhered to the prompt and the rules.

                                                               2) I have trouble making decisions to narrow things down. Therefore, anyone can vote for the winner. Just post your comment saying who you like best. No reason necessary. One vote per person please! If there are ties, the eliminations will continue. It doesn't matter how many levels it takes!!

The Prize: 1) I will give the winner a trophy. It would be nice if all of the other voters and competitors could also give the winner a trophy. 

                        2) The winner can also decide the topic for next month's contest, pick the due date, and pick the people who advance to Level 2. It doesn't have to be about chess. S/he has total sway over next month's contest. I will email them all of these rules to save them time.

The Due Date: November 18, 2011 @ 9:00 p.m. (California Time)
