Yep, no sarcasm intended in your direction.  It's actually quite rare that somebody willingly steps away from a political sideline.

Agreeing to disagree about politics should be easy, (except for social media), unfortunately.

There are more cases of the Brazilian variant in BC Canada than everywhere in the US combined, expert told CNN. From  report discussing the collapse of the healthcare system in Brazil (805) Brazil’s coronavirus crisis poses ‘huge risks’ to world - YouTube It's not possible to know when this pandemic will end. ''Ultimately, no single measure will determine when life can get back to "normal." "I don't think there's a metric that is going to say, 'Oh, it's over,'" said Justin Lessler, an epidemiologist at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, referring to the pandemic.

But certainly a vaccine does not signal the end of the pandemic. In Michigan, a State that once was doing very well in numbers of cases, with relatively low cases compared to the majority of other States in the first waves of the pandemic, people are vaccinated in great numbers and want to  go back to parties ...

“There’s a lot of schools and people (who) kind of want to feel ‘now that we have some vaccines we should be able to get back to normal’,” said Stephanie Baker.

But they have a problem with the other main variant, the UK variant. They have many cases of this variant, because of a combination of factors, and among them may be the fact that the population has low immunity from the original virus.

I have in my surrounding many people who are willing to be vaccinated, but they don´t take the step to vaccination centre, because of fear.

Taking people's concerns about the risk to their lives seriously and trying to clarify with the help of science, or at least a respectful conversation, will motivate people to receive the vaccine. This attitude may be more effective than the statistical figures.

Numbers are useful factor in my own decision. But I cannot use arguments based only on numbers, to encourage other people, because it sounds like Russian roulette, even if the cylinder of the revolver has millions of chambers.

Other countries – other information.  When we talk about people who refuse to be vaccinated, each one is thinking of a different type of people. When some of you appeal to people to get jab, you are probably addressing to other type of people. I can only observe the events from the point of view of the place where I live.

-in case that someone is interested in the haematological disorder of European recipients of AstraZeneca vaccine and in the results of the investigation-

The experts of EMA could not rule out a connection and decided to add a warning to the product information. But calls for the use of AstraZeneca vaccine because this vaccine has more benefits than risk. Scientists point out that the process of a rare side effect of heparin (HIT) resembles this thromboembolic problem. HIT can be treated with certain medicines.

It seems that this fuss about the safety of AstraZeneca vaccine stimulates the flow of information among scientists. The investigation continues. I had been looking for an article in English that reported on the resemblance to HIT, for about week-long. At last, I could find this article.

New problems erode confidence in AstraZeneca´s vaccine / Science 26 March 2021

Unfortunately, this article begins with another problem of AstraZeneca. If my posting this link would hurt someone´s feeling, I´m sorry for this.

No problem ,you have no need to be sorry..at all.

That is an interesting article for sure.

It might re ignite this question

One issue is that all of the vaccines have been developed, and used so quickly, one has to wonder if some corners have been cut ?!

Sadly it seems only time will tell doesnt it ?

Depends what you mean by cutting corners.  For a "normal" vaccine treating something non-fatal (or indirectly fatal at best), like say HPV, then yes, they are using a very expedited process.  For a global pandemic with people dying by the thousands every day, it's another story.

At my school (in BC, Canada) All students grade 4 and over are required to wear mask to prevent the spread of the new covid strain.

Maybe  Brazilian. Like I'm saying earlier this week. There is more of the Brazilian variant there in BC Canada than everywhere in the US combined... And it knows Jiu-jitsu, that's why it's bringing havoc

Links please.  For both your assertions about "covid 20" and about schools in BC.

I think there are 12 strains currently around the world........the Brazillian strain is B1.3.5......and the South African strain is B.1.351                                                    https://www.bbc.com/news/health-55659820

I'm sure washing hands is still beneficial wink.png.  But spraying down ever surface that gets touched by people is not needed.  When the original Covid threads started I would argue with various individuals about how long the virus lasts on surfaces and how checking and wiping down your Amazon packages was silly...and it is still silly.

If that were the case,...we would all be living in a bubble. surprise.png

I wasn’t too impressed by COVID when I had it back in November, but I know some people it hospitalized. We need a balance of caution and autonomous courage, or else we’ll mess up a whole bunch of stuff to avoid being messed up by COVID-19. Especially economically.
Where I’m at, we do a pretty good job, and now that the vaccines are rolling out, a lot of people are getting it. If this isn’t the light at the end of the tunnel, I can only assume somebody wants to keep it dark.
