Imagine being so oblivious that you don't pay attention to pandemics?

This seems like a silly game.

Its a worldwide pandemic.
Its not about 'afraid'.  Its about fighting.
And worldwide there's still over 1000 people dying of Covid every day and half a million new cases of it every day.
If you get it but don't die - is that a picnic?
The quoted post seems to show why this forum has a block list.

A reaction to "long covid" the're learning is that the body's reaction of processing sugar has been altered. surprise  Sorry, I don't have the link but I got that off of Yahoo news feed.

So your goal is to trash the forum?  Not I.

If you are just here to post one liners, you are done.  Do you have anything to contribute to the thread?

so much for the moderation.

not that i'm complaining. i think it's good to allow people to put foot in mouth. it develops a reputation.

I just got over covid a few weeks ago.  For me it was like having a mild cold.

Yeah, the Omicron and post-Omicron variants are getting "better", which is what viruses eventually do.  They mutate to the most spreadable and least lethal form.  A virus that kills people is a "failed" virus from an evolutionary perspective.

This is what I try to explain to people about the variants.  It will naturally become less deadly as it mutates.  It is most definitely not in the viruses best interest to kill its host.

This is exactly why it was so deadly at the beginning.  New virus + No immunity = Death.

That's why natives in Hawaii died from the common cold brought by settlers for a while.

Covid variants 'mutate'.   The politically correct word.
The politically incorrect 'evolve' will probably be avoided !

In hindsight, we did not get much out of vaccinating the children, Brostrøm admits

"

When Søren Brostrøm hosted 'Go' evening Live 'on TV 2 on Wednesday night, he was asked if it was a mistake to vaccinate children.

- With what we know today: yes. With what we knew then: no, was the answer."

Soren Brostrom serves as the current Director-General of the Danish Health Authority. In May 2021, Brostrøm was elected a member of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization by the World Health Assembly.

There are still a lot of people dying every day from Covid.
And while the death rate among those so afflicted is much lower -
that doesn't mean that getting Covid is some kind of picnic.
It was early complacency about Covid and disinfo and misinfo that caused many needless deaths.  Such negligence is likely to continue.
Although moreso in some countries than in others.

What caused those unfortunate deaths was because of a new virus.  A new virus and no immunity = Deaths.  As a virus mutates and people gain immunity the death rate drops.  It is not in a viruses best interest to kill its host.

i get the impression, based on much stupidity, that those that compare a cold or seasonal flu to covid are incredibly obtuse.

many need to do just a little research on sars. read some prior to making opinions based on what you just pulled out of thin air.

on the research about kids being vaccinated, there is evidence it is effective. forgive me for being blunt here, but those of you against the vaccine should join a flat earth group. anecdotal stories of how the vaccine had negative effects are just that-anecdotal. anyone here know any history about how polio and smallpox were cured?!?

the long covid i mentioned before is a real thing. brain fog where even olympic athletes can't function.
