What is it our endgame person doesn't get about someone having a disease and yet being asymptomatic and spreading it everywhere? By day two or three of spreading a virus, the kid suddenly seems sick and the parents keep him/her home. Meanwhile, bunches of other kids are spreading the very same germs for two or three days...etc until tons of children, parents, teachers, known associates and total strangers are starting to spread and develop symptoms. So just saying to keep your kid home is not really going to do the job.

I get that perfectly. What I don't get is why people don't understand that even if there's a virus going around you can only take precautions within reason. You can't make little kids wear an uncomfortable mask on their face for 6-7 hours straight 5 days a week. There's no way to know if someone is asymptomatic unless you test every single day which is also ridiculous. You people have no sense of boundaries. I literally spray the gas pumps with lysol so you're saying this to the wrong person. I'm as much of a Democrat as you can get, but they went too far with this. Yeah, you are infringing on people's rights by forcing them to inject stuff in their body or wear something that makes it harder to breathe normally. You people are just entitled, germophobes. What about a kid/baby's right to see normal faces, have a normal school experience, not to damage their vision by looking at screens 10 hours a day. Focus on finding a cure instead, same for the common cold and flu, not just live irrationally and obsessively for years.

hysterical old woman

Uh the hysterical old women are the ones who think they have a right to demand 2 year olds wear masks on a plane cause they are terrified about not living another 3 whole years. And the ones who wear masks while driving solo in their cars. Explain that.

"You people have no sense of boundaries"....... boundaries? surprise.....we're just trying to keep you alive.

I got a laugh out of people driving alone in their cars too.

Waste of time that is. He's too far gone.

Drama queen. Most reasonable people who didn't fall for the media fear mongering are still alive and well, and I have had covid, which your shots and masks did nothing to reduce. Living life obsessing about dying is no way to live. Quality of life is more important.

It's not either/or. People can take measures without being afraid...and most smart people do.

Reasonable measures aren't shutting down all of society, ruining children's education and social life, firing millions of people, forcing masks on 1-2 year olds on an airplane to the point that the kid is vomiting from the stress of trying to fight it, putting people in prison for going to a beach (like the Cayman Islands did), firing tens of thousands of needed workers such as pilots and doctors for not getting a rushed vaccine, arresting people for sitting in a park (like the UK did in spring 2020). All of that is fascist medical tyranny that isn't justified no matter what virus is going around. Again, you are talking to someone who sprays the gas pump with lysol before touching it. That's a reasonable precaution that takes 5 seconds and doesn't affect anyone else. Someone's coughing on the street, putting my face in my shirt as I walk by and moving away from them, that's a reasonable precaution that doesn't affect anyone else. Squirting 5-6 squirts of hand sanitizer in my hands at a public place instead of a normal 1-2 times is a reasonable precaution that doesn't hurt anyone else. What the governments did in response to the pandemic was catastrophic to society and the middleclass, and to deny that is just plain, unempathetic, delusional, narcissism. My moms friend even died of Covid, because at the time they were only sending ambulances to people who were very severely ill, so he was denied treatment for a few days until he finally was sick enough and then he died. And after that we had to hear the 7 o clock cheers for the health care workers who did nothing to help him. EMTs have delayed treating heart attack patients due to fear of getting covid. Fa sc ists medical tyranny.

One of my best friends was a frontline medical responder, in Texas. You're completely off base here. These people worked insane hours, helped everyone and then some more, and had to live with the unbelievable frustration of having to treat a truckload of people pouring in the doors constantly, all sick, some who were following guidelines, and some who were making their lives hell by questioning and resisting every single step of the way. A *ton* of nurses left the field or changed jobs after this nightmare. Many were so disillusioned that people could be that self-centered and frankly, stupid.

My friend had to deal with one woman who, upon finally realizing that she was going to die, tried to take it all back and say she was sorry about belittling everything along the way, and completely broke down...what do you say to that? You end up furious and heartbroken for them at the same time, and there's nothing to say and nothing left to do but lament that people can be that willfully ignorant.

Then, to top that off, nurses tried to go home and relax and decompress for the next shift only to have relatives and friends try to tell them that the pandemic is overblown, about how they refuse to wear masks, use sanitizer, cough at people as a joke, etc. I'm kind of surprised not a single healthcare worker "went postal" during this timeframe.

My friend eventually had to transfer to a small general practice, she just could take it all anymore. One less frontline responder...completely burned out only a few years after getting out of nursing school.

There's no such thing as "medical tyranny", by the way. I'll try to succinctly answer your initial list...no, no, no, cherry picked and not a government mandate, cherry picked, necessary, cherry picked. In a pandemic with almost 700 millions cases now, you can find almost any egregious behavior you like somewhere at some time.

Let's cherry pick from the other side...people licking food at grocery stores, coughing on people on purpose, cutting out the filters in their masks, faking vaccine cards, purposefully compromising whole batches of vaccines, buying up all the hand sanitizer in a tristate area and then selling it for 10 times the price, yadda yadda yadda...

There's a guy in Elroch's Evolution thread that's interested in the Chinese lab leak of Covid....... so I'm posting THIS here. https://www.yahoo.com/news/lab-leak-fight-casts-chill-124433759.html

So now nonsense is going to push actual science to the fringes. We're doomed as a species to die from terminal stupidity!

Then go ahead and block me, cause pushing that stuff on kids is anti-science, deranged, child abuse. Can't claim you are pro-science when you dismiss decades of modern genetics.

i chose to quote one of your shorter posts for the sake of brevity.

you seem to be the typical armchair quarterback. while you look back on those, like you, that caught covid and ended up just fine, there were millions that died from it. and, the #1 responsibility of government is to keep people safe.

so, you can rant all you want about how peoples' rights were 'infringed', but, that is what government does during a pandemic.

furthermore, you writing that states like texas and florida would have more covid based on population discounts the per capita average. you also ignore that florida (destupid) decided to not report covid to the cdc. destupid also put a surgeon general in place who stated that people should not get the vaccines.

your posts here remind me of you writing that there should be no speed limits.

you need to grow up.

allow me to add more.

long covid is a real thing. how it manifests is unknown. those that easily discount the effects of the virus draw my ire, and that you asked to be blocked from this topic while wanting to puke out your bile says something about you.

I got a shot, later I got a shot again. When a few months passed I got pretty ill and was tested, no covid just pneumonia. Over the next month I improved but then relapsed severely. I was tested again this time covid test was positive and pneumonia was confirmed. It took a very long time to recover as much as I have. Did the shots help? I really don't know but I have about all the things that they say help covid kill so maybe. Will I get another shot? Only if I have no other option!

Endgame said in post 4244....." What the governments did in response to the pandemic was catastrophic and to deny that is just plain, unempathetic, delusional, narcissism"....... surprise Not unlike your response to U-Tube. Or your inability to control your emotions when revving up your engine because the road is shut down. meh

Endgame can't post here, blocks are universal, and I had to block him for harassing PMs that were not directly related to this thread.
