Apparently a lot more. Don't worry, we'll get there eventually...

Sadly, I think the answer for a majority of people is that until it negatively affects someone a person knows directly, it's just not seen as being that bad.

I think in many places under lockdown it is approaching or within the period where apathy towards it kicks in. Before it was enforced there was a government medical advisor of some sort in the UK saying that week 5 would be a predicted tipping point for many people, and that it would be the most testing period. Basically, although thousands have died it is still a miniscule fraction of the population. There is also only a miniscule fraction of the population who have lost a loved one, or even have friends or family who have been confirmed as having had the virus yet fully recovered by simply resting up at home. When it doesn't directly hit you and all you see/read/hear is numbers it begins to lose its meaning and it is human nature to begin to relax I feel, especially when the number of deaths appears to be falling day by day as here. There have been calls for a relaxation of the lockdown in the last couple of days, primarily for economic reasons and we are in week 4 I think. The calls will get louder as more time passes and more people wonder if the measures are necessary and how seriously they should be taken. Of course if for example, your mother or daughter has died due to the virus, or your father or brother is working in the ICU you are taking it very seriously indeed.

Certainly, you have the FCC class 15 regulations in place, but those are more aimed at preventing so-called "spurious emissions" from devices that "bleed" outside their proper bandwidth.  This is more about stopping your computer from messing up your TV than it is about health concerns, but sure, all things considered it makes sense to limit devices to putting out emissions that are needed for their proper functioning, and no more than that.

No brains have been cooked yet .  And frankly, if it were possible to do this readily, we'd have seen this weaponized long ago.

Many have argued that it has been, including at least one mainstream publication:

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/01/science/sonic-attack-cuba-microwave.html

HAARP has also been flagged as a weapon of mass destruction masking itself as 'research':

https://www.globalresearch.ca/the-ultimate-weapon-of-mass-destruction-owning-the-weather-for-military-use-2/5306386

There's also the fact that so many studies have shown that EMFs, particularly of the radio frequency variety, do a lot more damage the certain authorities like the WHO acknowledge. Here's the link to the 500+ studies that have shown that they do in fact do damage:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/19CbWmdGTnnW1iZ9pxlxq1ssAdYl3Eur3/view

Except for the HAARP the two others are really scary!

Well, I'm glad that -2- of them looked scary but why does the HAARP one not look scary :-p?

Because it doesn't have the real physical power to do much.

It's awesome power is in the imagination of peoples!

It's not a weapon!

Its original purpose was to analyze the ionosphere and investigate the potential for developing ionospheric enhancement technology for radio communications and surveillance. As a university-owned facility, HAARP is a high-power, high-frequency transmitter used for study of the ionosphere.

Maybe we could start a new game called "The Six Degrees of the SARS-CoV-2 Virus".

I have nothing against rebooting our economy - In fact, we're at the point where we have to do it. But, we also need to be smart about it. Ignoring the physical distancing recommendations where possible is just dangerous. In my area, less than one-half of the customers in the grocery stores are wearing masks or face coverings. No good can come of this.

It is rare to see anyone in a mask where I am.

So, relatively speaking, the people in my area are geniuses... lol

Maybe... Which country are you in? Has the official advice been to wear a mask or is it your opinion that it is advisable to do so?

I keep changing my flag for the fun of it (a virtual world tour), but I'm in the USA.

The policy in the US varies from place to place. In a few areas it's a requirement to wear masks in public. (In the areas where it's a requirement, some people are refusing to wear them. There have even been protests against wearing the masks.) In many areas, it's only a suggestion. In my opinion, it should be a requirement for everyone in a public place. (Well, except for outdoors where you're not close to anyone.)

Hm it's going to be varied if left to the individual to decide. I'm guessing there are issues with the number of masks available? From what I understand only a specific model of mask will prove effective and this also cannot necessarily be used over and over again (correct me if this is wrong). In which case the number of masks required would be astronomical. Here in the UK I have heard no talk of it being a potential requirement when in a public area, although I have not been following coverage slavishly.

The mask laws don't require any specific type - In most areas, you can't even find real masks in stores. You're allowed and even encouraged to make your own. You can even make a mask out of an old tee-shirt and a couple of elastic bands or rubber bands (no sewing required). Even a bandana is accepted. The homemade masks aren't as good as the store-bought versions, but they're better than nothing.

Sure, if an infected person sneezes on you, the mask will probably be useless, unless you are wearing a medical mask (and you must also protect your eyes, as the virus can infect you through them), but if both the other person and you are using a mask, even one made with an old t-shirt, your chances are better.

This is an interesting poll to take.

In my area it's rare to see anyone inside a store without a mask...maybe 1 in 20 right now.  There's a county requirement here.

An interesting article about lifting the restrictions in San Francisco during the 1918 Spanish flu:

Hmmm...something strange happened and we lost page 49...

There's some posts missing, like the ones about how many people are wearing masks in grocery stores...and it shows RJC posting 40 min ago, but the last post on page 48 the current last page is 4 hours old...

Edit:  ...and page 49 is back as soon as I posted this to the end of it...strange bug.  It was not the same as the "somebody got muted and now it shows that bunch of pages at the end of the thread are suddenly blank until the buffering catches up" bug, either.
