Just like when the Liberal Media telling us we were critically short on PPE was fake news?

Except they were responsible journalists, 100% right, throughout the entire pandemic.

And everybody listened to the nay-saying dsihonest, lying Conservatives instead.

Who have been proven liars, by virtue of 45,000 British deaths.

From a disease Conservatives promised us would never be any significant threat.

Promised us the BBC was just being alarmists. They are Liberals after all, aren't they?? Can you trust them?

And most importantly, has a Conservatives ever lied to you before?

No, never.

Conservatives are your friend.

Conservatives love you.

Please see John Pilger's "war that you didn't see" - one of the most decorated war journalists of the modern age.

And we refused them throughout their Syrian nonsense. We also refused them throughout their Brexit nonsense - please see "the day after Brexit" disaster movie by Channel 4 (another media group that is now being defunded).

Really don't know whom you think you are talking to.

They were formerly called the Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation by vastly supported public servants. Presciently so.

You must take people for having the mind of a goldfish.

They are being defunded and are on borrowed time.

No, you were actually the one on borrowed time, and you just ran out.  I asked you not to post Facebook/YouTube videos, links to right wing blogs, etc. as news sources.

Enjoy your next thread.  Hopefully you'll broaden your perspective.

P.S. I am pretty sure the BBC is going to outlast you.

The BBC are certainly diminishing in influence. More and more people are questioning the enforced licence fee charge of £157.50 per year in todays world of media choices. This generates nearly £4 billion in revenue each year for the BBC. Recently the free licence for over 75s has been abolished and they too will be charged unless they are receiving pension credit.

This is what happens when the Radical  Right, works hard enough to convince people that a profession, honest news organization like BBS, are all liars.

They scream it enough, eventually people will begin to believe them.

So  videos are okay as long as you agree with them/they're from CNN etc...

Vetted videos from recognized news sources are okay.  Doesn't matter what I think of them.  If you post a Fox News video, I might take it apart for being BS, but I won't block you for using it as a news source.

If you post unverified radio talk show style BS, conspiracy theories, QAnon crap, Marxist manifestos, etc. then you are gone.  Simple, huh?  If you like a particular news source, just wait for Fox News or Yahoo News to pick it up and pass it along.  What?  Even Fox News won't spread your brand of BS?  Then take it elsewhere.

It's not hard to spot offenders...if the talking head on your video is saying a bunch of crap and showing a bunch of graphs that seem to have no support/backup, then find something better...which is something you should do for your own sake, but if you are unwilling to do that, don't try to spread it here.

I won't comment on the underpinnings, but the reputation of BBC News is good enough for this thread.  People argue about PBS funding as well, but it does not affect my views of their programming, which is that pound for pound, it is more robust and less biased than your average news sources/documentaries (or what passes for documentaries these days, i.e. a hand cam with a college dropout with an agenda to push attached to it wink.png...).

You won't find me posting videos, if I have an opinion I will express it in my own words.

But more importantly, you contrive to state an opinion on my politics, with no evidence whatsoever and in an aggressive, dictatorial manner.

You seem like an unpleasant fellow and I will not be following your ego trip any longer.

Sure, I would agree that generally speaking the BBC news department can be trusted to report the facts without pushing a particular agenda. It's quite tricky really, having a wide and varied choice of news media seems essential in order to take in all the facts and form ones own opinion. What tends to happen though is that opinions are formed and the only news media which is trusted by individuals is that which chimes with these already formed opinions. An ever decreasing circle of entrenched views.

That's funny, because your posts here have been pointed and implying various things from the get go, so you clearly have a chip on your shoulder of you own to deal with...but only now after taking repeated pot shots...you want to take a pass on the thread?  Be my guest, no loss of meaningful input.  You seem like an unpleasant fellow wink.png.

Below is the post I responded to, and I responded to it with a general "you" for anybody that would like to question why I block some people and not others...note your antagonism.  It's the same tone most of your posts have taken.

How bad are things in the US in terms of economy? I read in the news that many are behind their monthly rent. With many cities now rolling back their reopening, the unemployment rate is going up again. But then you can't believe everything you read in the news. Wonder how people are really affected in the hardest hit places at the moment?

The positive is how fast we are going to have te vaccine (hopefully). Usually it takes years to develop one.

RonaldJosephCote

I don't think the vaccine is going to be a 1 time thing......different people may need booster shots occasionally.

It seems they rush to develop vaccine. May be next year it will be ready. It depend on their distribution.
