Chill out, @Adam. You are getting all aggro on everyone lol

I believe you are legitimately very concerned about covid. I really wonder whether you are as bothered about public health in general or just covid?

For example, do you go on at as much length about smoking cigarettes, obesity, and other such things?

Apples and oranges and you know it. Those are self induced, obesity MAY be genetic. Covid is given by the dirty non-mask wearers to those that try to take care of themselves. Realize now why we are aggro? I'm tired of things not being back to normal because of some red hats that don't do their part and mess it up for everyone.

Is your name @Adam?

Why are you white knighting another grown man?

I'm trying to understand the mindset. Which I find illogical and completely unrelatable. The gent can speak for himself with a proper answer, not spoken for by you with a cop-out.

I think he’s a mentally challenged kid. Go easy on him.

Nah, I think he's a bit sly.

It does seem that I touched a nerve when simply scratching the surface of where some of these ideas come from.

If the chap has vented an e-opinion for probably hundreds of posts, it's only natural to ask why one thinks the way that they do.

It's fairly standard human convo, and should be water off a duck's back.

"Dark knight 500" is not only jumping around like a white knight, but he's doing so with some of the same fallacies already dealt with. I shall ignore that.

You may do as you wish, as can I. See what I did there, its called civil discussion.

The truth does hurt though doesn't it? I understand that running is easier to stabilize one's cognitive dissonance on simple matters that relate to covid-19.

If I sounded aggro, apologize for that. Everyone has a different way of expressing things hence might have sounded aggressive.

Self inflicted injuries by others aren't my concern here. However if one's behavior harms others then that needs to be addressed (like people not maintaining social distancing / wearing masks)

That's what I thought.

This is not an issue of public health. You are not interested in public health.

There's not an issue regarding liberty. You are not interested in liberty.

You make a purely ethical argument based on the illness' contagious nature. And you can't even get that right, because your ethics aren't even the least bit intellectually consistent and make no sense to an ordinary human being.

It's a ridiculous position.

Covid has doubled the death rate in our county.

That's not what the internet says. It says the death rate in 2019 was 8.78 per 1,000 people. In 2020 it was 8.88.  And neither of those are particularly high. Only the last 25 years or so has the death rate been lower. In 1968 it was 9.59. In 1918 it was about 25.

There were more deaths in 2020 than 2019. But it will take a while to tally the final 2020 numbers. It doesn't seem like the death rate is anything close to double though. Right now they are speculating that 2.8 million people died in 2019, and 3.2 million in 2020. But, there are other considerations. Even early on in 2020 we saw record breaking drug overdose deaths. The CDC claims 81,000 for the period ending in May 2020. Imagine what the rest of the year will be.

That's an interesting position. You are worried about ones behavior harming another?? It seems like you believe someone not maintaining social distance and not wearing a mask will harm others. Were you this concerned when the flu (which is contagious) was killing tens of thousands of people per year? Could it be the number of potential illnesses that triggers your concern? Where is the threshold for you to worry about harming others? 10k? 100k? 1M?

That could be. I'll bet there are others where it's gone down. We could break it down even further. I'll bet there are some city blocks, or even households, where the death rate has quintupled. For you, your county numbers are important. But for most people, the national numbers (or even state) are more applicable. Of all the people reading this, I'll bet not many live in your county. But probably a big percentage live in your country.

This is high time we must change our many of habits. We must learn to live in harmony with nature. We must have healthy eating habits. We must have regular exercises. We must remain calm and collected. We must maintain a positive out look towards ourselves and about everybody and everything. Health is wealth.happy.png

You were wrong. Rather than spew a bunch of calloused excuses, why not just say, Oops!  I was wrong?  Sorry about that!

lfPatriotGames

I could be wrong. All sorts of numbers on the internet are wrong. Most of them come from the CDC though. I don't know anything about the numbers in your county. How could I possibly know if I'm wrong? I thought you said country, not county. How would I know if the death rate in your county has doubled unless I knew what county it was? You never said which one it is.

Tired of hearing some of the nonsense some people spout in this forum, seems people never learn.

XxDarkKnight402xX

The reason we are in this mess right now, is because people still refuse to do the basics: wear masks, social distance, not traveling to see family, not hanging out with friends in social gatherings

That is why people are called 'people'.tongue.png

Exactly I know this would be your reaction. You are so self centered and to be ignored in future. You have no sense of responsibility and haven't got a clue what is going on around the world.

Yes, they never do learn and they remain a burden to the society they live in

Some people think that going out without masks is liberty 😂😂😂
