it's not really a killer glare i've played pokemon collected the Cards and games so i know that magikarp is actually a weak pokemon but evolves into a strong pokemon kind of like psyduck

Haven't you ever used "Splash" 40 times till you run out of it, and then used "struggle" to defeat a powerful opponent?
i usually don't use it to fight i just use the exp machine so all my pokemon that i have in my bag it's exp that's the fastest way to level up without fighting
the fastest way i get shinies is by wonder trading on Pokemon X or Y i have both game and but Pokemon X is my favorite Pokemon one because i got a Latios with it's mega stone for trading a Meloetta
I also got Latias with its mega stone
The most powerful pokemon in the game though is Ditto. He can turn into any opponent! And he only has to waste 1 turn to do it!

Not anymore! ^^ His new ability allows him to change in to the opponent right away! 
Mew however, has higher base stats are much higher and can use transform as aswell! :p
