in the old days, nobody believed the kids and abuse continued unchecked.  kids do anything for attention - that hasn't changed.  but now, erring on the side of caution, and for social media virtue signaling, people believe the accuser and attack the accused. 

just keep to the boundaries.  best not to get unnecessarily familiar with anyone.

i remember 15 years ago, total strangers left their kids with me while i was playing with mine in a hotel pool.  i mean none of us were locals.  then i thought nothing of it though my wife commented what irresponsible and lazy parents they must be and i told her to chill (as always).  i always said i don't understand parents who can only care for their own.  the paternal instinct should kick in when any child is in danger.

these days i'm more wary.  at 2 am I saw a bunch of guys chasing down & getting touchy with a girl in the park - all of them should be late teens).    so i stepped in and asked the girl if all was ok and she said they were just having fun.  i left immediately.  never assume.  in fact, best to just mind our own business and stay out of trouble. 

would have been really funny if i was stabbed by a drunk bunch of youths just having rowdy fun.  may be not so much to my dependents.

if you really found it creepy, you should have reported it, instead of naming and shaming.

don't think this would be productive.  nobody really knows anybody here.  this would just turn socio-political and ugly.

i can totally understand the feeling of humiliation you might feel but a poll of this kind won't help.  trolls have probably already latched on to 1 more point for hurt.

easiest solution is to close this account and start anew.  tell no one.  you may not have the best idea who you should trust, evidently.

or you could wear it like a badge - 'i stood up to a pretend metoo'.
