But once someone has entered a comment, the OP can not anymore delete the thread.
At one point, deleting the first comment caused any other comments to move up - and changed ownership of the thread.
If there was only one comment, the entire thread disappeared.
This behaviour changed - about 18 months ago (see last-chance-to-see).
