well, maybe i waited for instructions like 50 percent of the time
but mother says don't disobey father and that's what I'm doing.

Guess we'll see you 50% of the time then

I’m a very haughty pragmatist that likes forcing unequivocal conversation, so lend me an ear. I’m assuming you are making the very simple mistake of misunderstanding and misrepresenting the term used (“opinions”). What he is likely referring to is the fact that your opinions as someone who doesn’t command a household are irrelevant as compared to the opinions of someone who is firstly in authority over you, and secondly in authority over the home. This isn’t bad parenting, it’s life, unless, of course, your father’s opinions are morally reprehensible, in which case you would be perfectly entitled to your own contrasting opinions. You would do better to elaborate on what would enlighten and elevate the discussion. No shade to you of course. (You’re also acting downtrodden, which isn’t wrong but that mindset doesn’t work right in a family dynamic)

And by elaborate I am requesting a specific example of your opinion being disregarded or not acknowledged as evidence to deduce that you aren’t being treated fairly.

#25 agreed but like it is very poorly worded and if taken at face value, could affect your outlook on the world, your self esteem and just your life in general

#25 Also, by misrepresenting, I am trying to say that you misrepresent the mindset and motive behind your father’s decision

Ah ok

#27 Yes, but by taking it at face value the blame for poor behavior (poor as in assuming you are downtrodden and have no value (ultimately cultivating a loss of self esteem (as you said))) falls on the individual who mistook the statement (This is a very important nuance, good to point out)
Avatar of Exotic-Blunders
By that I mean it was good of you to point it out.
