Their moderation has been in shambles for the longest time, giving out mutes and bans unfairly, not responding in support, and much more complicated issues. Sometimes the trolls with 20 alt accounts run free while kind people like Macca are IP banned. It's sad to see. Although the forums are just a very tiny part of the site, so I suppose it's a bit understandable. still, for a site so big, they should be able to moderate a bit better.

It seems as if they're trying to seem like they're good at moderating by banning the wrong people.

@Scemer closed his account several times and was able to reopen it easily and quickly. Misha didn't experience the same, and it's clear to me that this is because Scemer has paid for a diamond membership for a long time. Also, when I closed my account and contacted support to reopen it, a staff told me that closed accounts could no longer be reopened. Another staff told me that I could just get my account reopened, no problem, after I contacted support again. It's clear that some staff are biased, and in addition, they've tried to bribe me with a one month free membership to stop complaining about GM's ban.

I completely and utterly agree. This is straight up oppression. This may actually be illegal, at least in some states.
Chess.com has already broken California law.
In 2023, I had the same thoughts as him.
I am also struggling with those thoughts to this day...
