Augment turns to look at the various different stained glass windows located all around the interior of the building. The orange camera sensor zooms in and out multiple times, as if mulling the question over in its metal mind.

"They're depictions of the history of the World Tree- the parts that matter, anyway. All the way from ████ to █████. My personal favorite part is when the boss ██████. Pretty sure the glass windows are some sort of cognitohazard plus info hazard, though I can't quite remember their effects. That's for you to worry about, eh?"

In the corner of your eye, you notice Ato, who stands there stock-still and frozen on the spot. From the look of it, she has fully realized what those windows are depicting. In particular, she's staring at the scene of █████ ████ ██████ and ██████ ████ ██████.

“Oh. Um, nice.”

Clover slowly walks over to Ato’s side and tries to encourage her to keep moving.

I wonder what’s on her mind, Clover thinks.

Also, what even is a cognitohazard?

(Why'd that giant robot attack us if it's made by people we work under, anyway? Maybe it was possessed by something like that weird black... thing we fought a while back... since it's clearly able to do sh*t like manipulating my dreams...)

*She'd just continue on the designated path towards the boss*

After another additional period of time walking through this grand hall of stone, you reach what is presumably the point of no return, for real this time.

A golden gateway blocks off the way forward, the doorway to the boss’s room. Beyond the gilded bars you can see what looks to be a staircase up, though you have no idea where to. The bars of gold are no less impressive than the rest of the building so far, some complicated emblem is emblazoned on every bar, connecting them all together in a complex spiderweb of precious metal.

The thing that stands out here the most are three animals perched on top of the gate, or two and a half animals, really. There’s a hawk perched to the left side, peering over at you on the ground, eyes temperamental and angry at something. The next to the right is some sort of worm creature, like a snake but with many horns and a mystical carapace. Both animals are covered in the same gold, an eye printed onto their backs, something added after they were made. The animal in the center has been violently torn from its perching place. You can’t make out what it is. Ato seems to know, staring peculiarly at that spot, though she has been staring at a lot of things since you all entered in this world.

Augment stills as he floats in front of the gate, silent, before turning around to address you all.

”Okay! This is the room of the boss. You’re all going to go up there, and you’ll do great! Just remember to be smart about decisions, and don’t die!”

When Augment stops talking. The golden gates open without a sound, beckoning- no, demanding you in.

"...I'd have rather not gone here, but whatever pays the bills, I guess..."

*Cyntalia would walk through the gates, silently expecting Radriar or Xano to mess up the meeting*

The staircase of stone leads up and up, higher than you can imagine but a shorter distance than you would expect.

The bells are tolling.

You reach the last bend of the staircase. You can see the next room ahead, if just barely. Go ahead. Climb it.

*she'd walk up the stairs, on high alert*

"...I've got a bad feeling about this, but it's not like we can just... not give our time to the boss..."

"eh i dont wanna"

"Plus i dont like being bossed around. nobodys my boss and it'll stay that way"

"i dont get why yall soooo scared. babies"

*xano rolls his eyes not caring and not scared*

"Babies"

*Cyntalia would grab Xano's throat, holding him at knifepoint*

"If you ruin our reception at this meeting, I'm turning you into a bloody carcass and running tests on your dead corpse. You don't want that. Do you? DO YOU?"

*xano headbutts*

"back off sci. im no lab rat anymore"

"fine i'll 'behave' for your stupid reception"

*rolls eyes*

"...well, I'll sure as hell make you one if you ruin this for us. But if you agree to behave, I guess I can forgive you of how awful you've been to work with in the past..."
