this is a chess site mainly for chess-related things. But, chess.com has a very good social aspect to it that allows people meeting new people in the community. Thus, it is possible that relationships are formed and that is fine.

Okay I think personally do what you want. Don't care about what people think about what you want to do. Be you. Don't ask for other peoples opinion, because it really doesn't matter.

I think dating on chessdotcom is okay, but never totally trust someone without knowing them yet. I made that mistake and was heartbroken for some time.

To answer OP's question it's good AND bad at the same time
Chess.com is a fun way to play chess with other people but when having friends on Chess.com you probably talk to them all the time, sometimes when you talk to someone to long you/they start to catch feelings for you/them. I personally have found out that dating someone online feels kind of WeIRD to me because, first off you don't know: 1. how old they are. 2. what their name is. ( You can find my forum on telling people information online on my page) 3. You don't know if they are lying or if they are telling the truth nowadays. 4. If you break up than it would just be very awkward when your talking to each other and no one wants that to happen!
I'm not forcing you but just for your own good PLEASE do NOT date people online!
