Russian classical is some of the best music this world has to offer (aside from Rock, as you can tell by my PFP), but I don't know any Russian artists outside of that genre.

Sergei Rachmaninoff moved to Los Angeles. He played his Second Piano Concerto at the Hollywood Bowl in 1942. In spite of not feeling well, he was in superb form. Here's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini.
