Does True Randomness Actually Exist?

randomness and determinism cannot coexist without the other.

noodles2112

called opposition in all things

Think quantum theory says yes, but who cares.

noodles2112

take a steamroller and roll it over anything/everything and figure out what gets squashed first?

noodles2112

Nonsense is an opinion, therefore, i could say that you are making nonsense posts and report you.

I should really ask "do you accept that true randomness exists?"

I don’t know if true randomness exists. It doesn’t seem possible to even know it, even if it does.

noodles2112

like i said,

randomness cannot exist without determinism.... and vice versa.

noodles2112

On what basis do you make that claim?

noodles2112

we wouldn't be here debating it otherwise.

And…circling back… on what basis do you make that claim?

noodles2112

is circling random or deterministic?

noodles2112

how about spiraling upward/downward?

noodles2112

or sideways?

Noodle, I see what she was talking about with your spamming. You could’ve combined all of those into one single nonsensical post, instead of spreading it out into multiple posts.

You said randomness cannot exist without determinism and visa versa. Not only have you not made an actual argument that that is true, it’s self-contradictory. If true randomness occurs, the universe is by definition, not deterministic.

noodles2112

Opt - the universe is null and void. it only exists in ones imagination, therefore its random. anything goes!

USArmy - ditto
