who was that "she"?

Could have been a dig about me needing a haircut or could be because he needs glasses.

I was responding on my cell phone so your avatar was small. No offense was intended.

I should really ask "do you accept that true randomness exists?"

I don’t know if true randomness exists. It doesn’t seem possible to even know it, even if it does.

Elroch described one or more experiments where it seemed it was proven.

Yes.

Then he seemed to be in doubt.

No.

I'm not sure you are really clear on what "random" means.

Here it seems you equate it with something accidental or just previously unknown.

noodles2112

is not randomness the opposite of deterministic?

noodles2112

what about "true determinism"?

noodles2112

sounds right. still one cannot really believe in the when if things are simply blowing in the wind!?

These are three random numbers generated by a scientific calculator put together. Is it random if it's a rational number? Irrational numbers seem more random to me.

noodles2112

if indeed everything was predetermined then life would/could not be random.

No.

Niyahhhhh123

Niyahhhhh123

Just asking

noodles2112

I fail to see how anyone can say that determined is not opposite of random!?

Or are they simply trying to say random-determinism exists?

Which would be oxymoronic. Would it not?

noodles2112

so you say there is no opposite of determinism? ...

also no opposite of random?

freewill/agency is what i think you mean by opposite.

almost 3000 posts here. any of them random?
