Here in Philippines, most parents work hard and sacrifice so much so that their children can get a good education. A formal education consists of several stages. At the age of four (sometimes younger), many children begin schooling at the first stage-nursery and then kindergarden. A child usually goes to the elementary school at seven, where he or she gets a primary education for the first three years and an intermediate schooling in the next two or three. Since most school do not offer seventh grade, a child may next go to a highschool. Upon graduation from highschool, he or she may go on for a college education or a vocational courses. Some may go on with their studies, after they get a degree in college., to a graduate school. They earn a master's degree.Very few continue to a higher stage of learning to take up a doctorate degree because this entails more intensive study and more expense.
