Electronic Gaming

While electronic games can be quite, people can also get addicted to them; so much so that they can die, murder others, etc! This is a serious issue however people still choose to do it, why? Addiction has overcome the younger generation (and even some older people.) Please post below with your thoughts on this matter. I'm not saying gaming is a bad thing (I play games too) however I don't think we should get so addicted (to anything) that it threatens our lives or the lives of others.

I agree absolutely , normally when people speak about this matter they don’t take the spiritual damage in count though, be careful what you let your ears hear and eyes see, etc.

play in moderation! happy.png

That seems like a good reason to play tongue.png

A lot of people (and I'm just making a generalization here) who play video games (the really bad ones anyway) aren't Christian. I won't say anything else because it's against chess.com rules to speak about politics or religion however I can totally agree with you about this.

Yes it is! If you’re going to put others in danger just because you want to ‘play a on a screen for fun’ then yes it is.

I was brief because I didn't have much time yesterday.

I agree that occasionally people can focus too much on computer games. I disagree that it is a matter of life or death, or that any kind of intervention needs to be made.

I knew this guy who was heavily into warcraft. Thing is that he was in his 30's with a wife and kids. I was thinking "how does he grind that game so much with his responsibilities?". There is no secret - he was just neglecting other important things.

Yes, I think that sucks. But if it weren't gaming it'd be something else. Guy was just lazy and very overweight. But I think live and let live in the general for such things. If such people were any problem to me, then i'd have a different view.

Fair enough. But for those so addicted that they seek blood then this becomes a serious issue.

At least play a game that's FUN AND NOT ADDICTIVE. Take Zelda: Breath of the Wild for example. It's actually fun, it has more than 90 puzzles to beat in-game, and there is fighting for those who enjoy that sort of thing.

Playing chess is both fun and addictive.

Now that's a fun game. That's also why i have this app...

The problem as always is young guys with zero social skills and zero social awareness who are big zeroes and get all there input from cyberspace. It is easy for them to be programmed by viral memes like race-hate, etc., et al, insert your pet demon here. People that don't believe in nothing eventually get taken over by something. Usually a demon.

Sounds like a reasonable statement

Couldn't agree with you more.

Electronic gaming can indeed be harmful to one's health and relationships, because of too much screen time, too much sitting, and a lack of focus on the real world. If not taken too far, electronic gaming can be a good way to relieve some stress, or have fun with some friends.

We might do a little bit together, but I doubt it'll be much, unless that's something you want to do.

Any time I see some little child play those lousy games virtual with guns and violence it ticks me off, have even lovingly asked them why do they like such garbage, then also say that I realize their friends also play them, maybe big brother got them involved but it is so sad, no way in hell should there be any stupid games the likes and we wonder why there have been beyond outright awful shooting sprees. =/

It’s beyond sad! 😥

A little bit sounds good
