I love the night sky. Once upon a time I could point out over a dozen constellations and name a number of stars and planets. I'm quite rusty now. Cherry Springs State Park, an official Dark Sky Park, is nearby. Every year they have an open stargazing event where the public is invited to join the astronomers. There's a campsite across the road so one year a few of us attended. There are no white lights allowed on the astronomer side of the road. Some people use red lights but on a clear night you can see well enough without lights after a while. The astronomers will have a small red or green light. Red means "Sorry, I'm busy", Green means "Let me show you my cool stuff". Some of their telescopes are really something. I looked through the eyepiece of one that stood about eight feet tall and was computer controlled. All the big ones are.
I was struck by how many people there were and how quiet it was. It was sometime after midnight, there were at least a hundred people wandering around a small area, and all you could hear were quiet murmurs. It was very enjoyable, as you can probably tell by my rambling.

Hey, great thread by the way! 👍

...I love what's up there formed by stars, much that could clearly change any atheist ever to have thought there to be not The Good God Almighty. Especially regarding The SOUTHERN Cross! It's absolutely massive and totally awesome to actually view agazed out to that night sky.. It has very distinctive clarifications that The Holy Scriptures Are Magnificently Factual. On it's right side of the huge Cross at the end creates a V for Victory over death, and just below it, in complete connecting with the two stars forming the V are two stars that form a Footstool, as such is written In His Scriptures The Heavens Are His Throne And The Earth His Footstool, and there's also another large Cross that forms as like its shadow, representing The Father, and then another being representing another shadow that represents The Son, and then OF COURSE The Main One Is The SOUTHERN Cross., representing The HOLY Spirit. Truly Breathtakingly Beautiful And Absolutely Verifying A Wonderful Devine Creator. =)

There's so much more too! =)

I have marveled at the stars all my life. I have yet to see a god there.

WTFrickenA

Have you yet to see the description that I layed out that's formed with those wonderful stars?

WTFrickenA

....perhaps you then can explain exactly why they form what absolutely represents The Trinity?

WTFrickenA

Such A Southern Cross

Eldred_Woodcock

It's a random group of stars. They're everywhere. That's all the explanation needed.

WTFrickenA

It Is B E Y O N D descriptively BEAUTIFUL and VERY SEEN BY THE EYE THE MAGNITUDE SIGNIFICANT IMAGE AS I DESCRIBED, my friend. =)

WTFrickenA

It matter not whether you find such so, OTHER THAN for YOUR own good, A B S O L U T E L Y .

WTFrickenA

.....I say that cause I care.

WTFrickenA

Is this a random group of formation of rocks, clearly FORMING An Huge Key ? yes?

When I was about eight or ten a weird cloud formation came over that I've never seen since. It alarmed my mother so much she made me go out and bring in the dog. (Why me, Mom?) It was a low, flat layer of clouds but looked like it was boiling. It was like looking up at a pot of boiling water. I think I looked it up once but I don't remember what it was.
I just tried to look it up again. Mammatus Cloud is the closest I came but I'm not convinced. Mammatus sound like they form and disperse slowly. These 'bubbles' were forming in seconds. I couldn't find a youtube video that looked right. It was pretty eerie.

Post it yeah

I found one that is close to what I remember. The clouds I saw were a little flatter and the 'bubbles' a little smaller but this should give an idea. I did not like being outdoors under those clouds.
